Swanson's Red Yeast Rice capsules are a natural traditional remedy to help to lower high cholesterol levels containing red yeast rice extract.

Red Yeast Rice, also known as Monascus purpureus, is an all-natural whole food powder made from dried fermented rice. Red Yeast Rice contains Monacolin K which naturally helps to balance the ratio of HDL’s to LDL’s by inhibiting the action of HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme responsible for cholesterol synthesis in the liver.

Red Yeast Rice contains naturally occurring lovastatin, a statin that is often prescribed, however it also contains unsaturated fatty acids that support the maintenance of serum lipids within normal ranges.  It is theorized that this combination of compounds, and not just lovastatin, are responsible for the effectiveness of red yeast rice, with an average reduction of 30% in serum cholesterol levels in eight weeks.

Red Yeast Rice benefits:

  • Helps to lower high cholesterol naturally and without side effects.
  • Balance the ratio of good cholesterol (HDL) and bad cholesterol (LDL).
  • Studies indicate that red yeast rice may improve blood flow through the arteries and reduce inflammation.
  • Red yeast rice has been found to lower blood sugar levels.
  • Red yeast rice may also reduce fats in the liver helping to prevent fatty liver disease.

Dosage: One capsule twice a day with water.
