Rio Amazon Yerba Mate tea is a green tea with naturally-occurring caffeine. Mate (pronounced ‘ma-tay’) is brewed from the leaves and stem of the Ilex paraguariensis tree. Taste is green, grassy and herbaceous with a slightly smoky flavour.
Besides being refreshing and stimulating, Mate is packed with nutrients and anti-oxidants: vitamins A, C and E, for instance, and many of the vitamins in the B complex. It is rich in minerals iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sulphur and silica among them.
