Clearspring Organic Hojicha, roasted green tea has a refreshing, mild and toasted taste. Hojicha is a pleasing light tea and the most popular everyday drink in Japan.
It is prepared at Nagata Chaen, Kyoto, from select green tea leaves that are steamed and then gently roasted to produce the distinctive hojicha flavour and aroma. As the leaves are left to grow longer than for sencha they have a lower caffeine content and because they are roasted they have less astringency.
Directions: Boil water and leave to cool for a minute before pouring over the teabag. Infuse one teabag per person in boiled water for 1-2 minutes.
