Weekend Read

text hello august in colourful letters on yellow background

All rocked up on a Saturday morning and there is much to report this week.  I suppose we should celebrate because the biggest news is that some of our bestselling products are back in stock after a long absence.  I will go through these below, but hopefully there will be another stash of deliveries arriving this week, if all goes according to plan, but I’m not holding my breath.  As I wrote last week, I don’t think these product famines are going to ease up any time soon, so we’ll take it as it comes.  And give thanks for what we have.  Actually, I think that goes across all things in life.  Perspective is everything.

That said, I want to begin by addressing a rather alarming issue, hair loss and thinning hair.  Of course it has always been a really large concern, but with the onset of amplified stress, which is completely understandable, in and of itself it has become a concern of epic proportions.  Over the years we have always recommended Superior Hair.  We have yet to find a better alternative and I know that several of you are taking it with either Ionicell or Fulvic Acid Elixir, which is a very good thing.  By its very nature, this is not an issue that can be resolved overnight and it takes time to see results and although we are all different, we are saying it could take up to six months.  So let’s give things a helping hand.

That helping hand comes in the form of Fulvic Acid Mist.  This is the hero product of the Fulvic haircare range and it always has been.  A potent, rejuvenating and invigorating treatment for hair loss and thinning hair, it is powered by Ioniplex, the patented ingredient for Ionicell.  Working hard (very hard) to help renew cell life and the keratin function in our scalp, follicles and hair, it can be truly transformative.

And the treat.  Buy Superior Hair and we will automatically include a bottle of Fulvic Acid Mist (60 ml) which is worth £12.50.  But perhaps we should just ignore the value of the product in monetary terms because we cannot put a price on an efficacious product.  To get this gift you need to click on the ‘treat’ link below.  We’ll run this across the entire weekend and this offer will end midnight tomorrow (Sunday 2 August), or whilst stock lasts.  One more thing.  If you are ultra-stressed, do try Magnolia Rhodiola Complex, our bestselling product for anxiety.  Don’t go to the edge.  Please.  We are here if you need us.
Superior Hair Treat £28.50 (Superior Hair £28.50 for 90 Capsules + Fulvic Acid Mist 60 ml); Fulvic Acid Mist £25 for 120 ml; Magnolia Rhodiola Complex £28 for 60 Capsules; Ionicell £20 for 60 Vegicaps; Fulvic Acid Elixir £30 for 480 ml

Imagine having to live without our second bestselling supplement.  That would be Hyaluronic Acid (Ionicell keeps beating it!).  I have lost count of the number of times I’ve written that this is the supplement I will take forever because it plumps up skin and cushions joints.  Seriously, my face is not allowed to slide south.  And just when I was beginning to really get concerned, back into stock it came.  My face and my joints give thanks.  If I don’t take HA my ankles start to click.  And they were clicking.  Glory hallelujah.  We are saved.  In all my excitement, I’m double dosing for a week.  It’s fine.  And just because I’m going rather big on archived articles at the moment, Shabir has written four separate articles about HA.  From skin to eyes, specifically Dry Eye Syndrome, which can be really problematic. Covered.
Hyaluronic Acid Capsules High Strength £35 for 30 VegeCaps; Hyaluronic Acid: The Anti-Ageing Nutrient; Tackling Dry Eyes Syndrome; Eye Floaters and Flashers; Beauty Supplements To Boost Your Skin

Rejoice.  These products are also back in stock.  For now.  They would include Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C, Broc-On, the superfood shot that we launched earlier this year to huge acclaim and the Healing Patches.  I mean those Healing Patches.  They have become a total legend in their very short lifetime, make that about four weeks.  That would be because they are epic in helping to relieve pain rather brilliantly.  They are my six-hour-fix in times of need.  And yours.  The boy did good.  What an adventure we are on.  With Ross.
Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C by LivOn Labs £39.99 for 30 Sachets; Broc On £75 for 30 Shots;  Healing Patches by Ross J. Barr £15 for Five Patches

In the whole scheme of things, somebody has to write about very common health concerns, which are often embarrassing to talk about.  So let it be me and this week we are throwing the focus on haemorrhoids.  As you will read in Shabir’s article linked below, he recommends Diosmin Plus for haemorrhoids, which contains a potent and synergistic blend of botanicals that provide support for the circulatory system and help modulate inflammation.

Haemorrhoids are essentially internal varicose veins, so by virtue of that, this supplement is recommended across various circulatory issues, which also include regular varicose veins and spider veins.  Shabir believes Diosmin Plus is an extremely important supplement for these related concerns.  Read his words.  Thank you.
Diosmin Plus £26 for 60 Capsules; A Natural Remedy for Varicose Veins, Spider Veins, Haemorrhoids and Poor Circulation

Time for a treat.  Shabir loves these sections.  Every week he sits and waits for that inevitable eye-roll moment.  I know he wants me to moderate these things, but I’m not going to.  He actually thinks that I’m going to run out of treats pretty soon.  I’ve got news for him.  I’m not.  So this week let’s do Miracle Lotion.

Many of you will know that this is the product that journalists will not put on their pages because the packaging is laughable.  It really is bad, but we have listed Miracle Lotion from the beginning of VH time because as a body lotion it is amazing.  Never mind that many beauty editors hide it in their cupboards and use it, I know these things.  Anyway, the treat is for one day only, so it will end at midnight tonight (Saturday 1 August) or whilst stock lasts.  And what’s the treat.  Instead of £16 for 237 ml, it becomes £10.  Go. For. It. ** Sorry, this promotion has now ended **
Miracle Lotion £10 for 237 ml

If we are talking miracles, let’s continue because it’s a miracle I didn’t fall off my chair early last Sunday morning.  There I was, enjoying an iced latte (my fridge is always stacked with them) and suddenly the ordering screen started to explode with orders for It’s A Ten and most specifically the Miracle Hair Mask and Leave-In products.  I knew immediately what had happened.  I wrote last week that Trinny had fallen in love with the brand and had put it on Facebook.  You can’t keep a good girl (or a product) down and she did it again, this time on Instagram.  I knew it was Trinny.  I just knew.

If I may, I will just tell you that we are continuing to send out a free It’s A Ten Miracle Leave-In Spray, worth £11, with every order for It’s A Ten.  This makes me smile because a whole load of Trinny’s people will be getting an unexpected treat.  I like it that way.  I will also tell you that if you go to Trinny’s site, trinnylondon.com, you will see she has just launched a rather gorgeous hand mirror, which I’m lusting after.  It’s £10 and I hope it’s still in stock because you will want one.  And perhaps a few other things too.

Added to this, I want to make it absolutely clear that there is no commercial relationship between me and Trinny.  There never has been.  Our very strong friendship is based on mutual love, trust and respect.  Neither of us would have it any other way.  It’s who we are.  Together and separately.  Strong in our rock solid belief systems.  No matter what.

It is with relief that we can knock out another wait list, this time for Milk Thistle.  And so it is that we are going to talk about double cleansing.  Make that double cleansing for the body.  In short, the first cleanse is that of the intestinal tract as it is exposed to toxins.  Complete Fibre Cleanse is the product to use here.  The liver is an organ that is also pretty susceptible to toxic overload.  We often recommend liver cleansing.

The liver is the second largest organ of detoxification, the first being skin.  To discover the signs of poor liver function, do read Shabir’s article on the subject where he recommends Milk Thistle Complex for helping to cleanse this essential organ.
Complete Fibre Cleanse £21 for 168 grams; Milk Thistle Complex by HealthAid £11.99 for 60 Tablets; Double Cleansing The Body

I am kind of addicted to dosing.  Beauty dosing.  I have often written about having a skincare wardrobe, which equates to having several different products in your bathroom.  And when you mix them together you become an alchemist and the master of your own skin destiny.  We like keeping things simple.  Simple is good.  Simple is key.  So I invite you to join me.

For the purposes of alchemy, I use Fulvic Face Cream as my base moisturizer.  Well I would I suppose because this is the product that Shabir formulated for me and however brilliant it is in its own right, and it is, I still tend to dose.  There are three products that I mostly use and alternate, although please feel free to experiment with your own.  They would be C-Deep Serum, Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Hyaluronic Acid Serum.  My one constant is Neurophroline, which I use every single day.  And probably always will.

Ah, Neurophroline, the ingredient sent from heaven, which has been clinically proven to take down cortisol levels in skin.  Inflammation is the main cause of ageing and Neurophroline knocks inflamed skin out of the water.  Read all about how stress ages skin in Shabir’s article linked below.  If ever there was a skin-changing product, Neurophroline would be right up there.  That much I know.
Fulvic Face Cream £30 for 60 ml; C-Deep Vitamin C Serum £18 for 30 ml; 100% Prickly Pear Seed Oil £20 for 30 ml; Hyaluronic Acid Serum £10 for 30 ml; Neurophroline Serum £18 for 30 ml; Stress Ages Our Skin

I am rather perplexed.  In a good way.  Every single time I write about Derma E’s Vitamin C Bright Eyes Hydro Gel Patches, they literally fly out the door.  Last week I wrote that they were back in stock, they still are, but what I don’t understand is how you get through them so quickly.  There are 60 Gel Patches in each pot, so something is going on.  I know they are brilliant, but I’ve come to the conclusion that perhaps you are using them on all parts of your face and body.

I subsequently informed Shabir that I was going to use an entire pot in one go and put them all over me.  As an experiment you understand.  Picture his face.  Don’t care.  I’ll report back, but just to be clear, he has not received an invitation to view this event.  As if.

Yes well, what I can say.  I thought I had ordered enough.  But I hadn’t.  And not very far into last Saturday a famine occurred.  I will take full responsibility because little did I know how many of you would want to join me in Dermaplaning your face.  I fully accept that beauty tools come and go, but this one is super-special because it does what it promises for £8.99.  And that is exfoliating the top dead skin cells from our skin, alongside the unwanted and unneeded ‘peach fuzz’.  If you missed my full description, click here to read what I wrote.   Now back in stock, together with the fabulous Mini Eyelash Curler.  Beauty stars.  Both.
Brow Shaper/Dermaplaner £8.99; Mini Eyelash Curler £8.99

Take three products.  Three products that will help uplift mood and bring comfort when we need it the most.  I adore Soapsmith’s Bloomsbury Bath Soak (it’s like bathing in a beautiful garden) and have done so since the moment it launched.  Therapeutic bathing perhaps.  Light a candle.  The Inner Strength Candle by Aromatherapy Associates evokes calm, peace and upliftment.  This is the candle that I am constantly gifting to those who need it the most.  I call it my soul candle.  And finally, Temple Spa’s Breath of Life.  No explanation needed.  It’s all in the name.  Nurture.
Bloomsbury Bath Soak by Soapsmith £25 for 500 ml; Inner Strength Candle by Aromatherapy Associates £42; Breath of Life by Temple Spa £12 for 10 ml

By now most of you know what I do when we near the end of these weekly bulletins.  We do a Saturday only treat, except this week I want to do something slightly different.  As many of you will have read, I had a complete ranting meltdown about the face mask (and PPE) bandwagon a couple of weeks ago and the least said about that, the better.  And so behold, with every order placed today (Saturday 1 August) for £20 (excluding P&P) and over, we will automatically send you a free face mask, whilst stock lasts.  And they should.

It is a three-ply fabric mask, it is anti-microbial, it is white and it is washable.  These are the masks that a huge American company bought 25 million of and they are also the masks that are being given away in several US States, including, I believe, Louisiana.  A version of this mask is currently being tested by SGS in France, so we are in good company.  Also those disposable masks are causing monumental skin flare-ups, so they can go out the window as it were.  As ever, this will not show up on your confirmation or invoice.  Be safe.

In this week’s feature article, Jane Cunningham (britishbeautyblogger.com) talks about bare skin.  Echoing the same sentiments as I have above, she looks at the simplicity of beauty routines, recommending the products she loves to use.  I give thanks that Neurophroline is amongst them.
The More Of Less by Jane Cunningham

Finally, I always write two or three days ahead of publication and as I write this I have received notification that Sage Complex is scheduled for delivery within the next few days.  By the time you read this, it may well have arrived, but in any event another wait list will be conquered, as will our dancing hormones.  Also, because we always process our wait lists before our day to day orders, we are slightly behind again.  So please forgive me, we do our very best to process and send orders within 24-48 hours of ordering, but there are times when it is impossible.  We get there in the end.  Wherever the end is.
Sage Complex £25 for 90 Capsules

So together with Shabir, Lara and the entire VH team, I hope you have a restful weekend.
With ongoing love and thanks for your extraordinary support and loyalty.
Be well.
