March Newsletter

march-newsletter-2017

Welcome to the March newsletter where we launch three new products from The Ordinary (please let there be enough for everybody!), there is a new launch from Sarah Chapman, we introduce you to Conscious Water and we take a look at several common health concerns. We also cover off the ongoing news about Vitamin D and there is a treat from Phylia, so together with all the usual news and updates, here is another fully loaded newsletter and somewhere amongst all of this I have a miniature rant and additionally I jump onto The Podium for a moment or two; let’s do it:

The Ordinary: The Acids

We continue The Ordinary journey with the release of three new products, two of which will be arriving at the end of this week, all things being equal, and the third will follow a while after – start getting excited! They are Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (this is the third product referred to above). Reducing The Risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis

reducing-the-risk-of-deep-vein-thrombosisv1

Deep Vein Thrombosis, DVT, is caused by the pooling of blood in a vein which triggers the blood clotting mechanism. The formation of the blood clot, known as a thrombus, usually occurs in a deep leg vein usually between the ankle and the upper calf.

Anyone can be at risk of developing DVT; the risk of developing blood clots increases by 48% for those who sit more than four hours a day. This is not a long period of time when you imagine the number of people sitting at a desk, movie theatre, whilst driving or on a train and watching television. Read More…

Flying – Mega Probiotic-ND

Flying

If you are flying for two hours or more, consider taking Zinopin Long-Haul (£19.92 for ten capsules, enough for one return flight) to help reduce the risk of blood clots (deep vein thrombosis). This supplement contains extracts of ginger root and pycnogenol (French maritime pine bark), which are both natural anti-clotting agents. Consultant vascular surgeon and pilot Dr John Scurr formulated it in response to his patients’ needs. Don’t forget to keep wiggling your legs and walking around as well.

  • NB Zinopin is not recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding; if you are on any medication, check with your doctor.

A Reader Who Developed Thrush on holiday – ‘probably after sitting around in a wet bikini’ – has found that the Bio-Kult probiotic she takes to avoid traveller’s tummy seems to ward off thrush too.
