June Newsletter

stack of rubbers

Hello and welcome to the June newsletter where we talk about the launch of a new product from LixirSkin, which is rather special. We take a look at some other new product launches, there is a bestselling supplement treat, all the latest news and feedback and we also throw the focus on mental health issues. And then of course we have the girls with this month’s feature articles. Let’s do it:

Soft Clay Rubber by LixirSkin

It has been nine months since we launched LixirSkin for Colette Haydon. Simplistic in its approach to skincare, there were just six products in the range and now there are seven. So we say hello to Soft Clay Rubber, which sits in all its resplendent knicker-pink pot glory in my bathroom and I’m guessing it will soon be in most of your bathrooms too.

This is a limited launch, so you will need to be fast to be one of the first.  The rest won’t have to wait that long, around two weeks I think, but don’t shoot me if it’s slightly longer; visions of another wait list are swirling around my head, so best we move on. Read More…

Bum Bum Bum…

shower head turned on

I’m on my roof in Soho, lurking behind a big tree, minding my own business until it’s time for Peeling Solution to come off when Crazy K calls begging for help. Again. She’s accidentally attached a bum selfie to her contacts’ list. Now everyone who gets a message from her is treated to a view of her recently waxed rear, she apologises just as ‘My Bum’ appears on my screen.

There are no compromises in backsides these days. They are either fatties or flatties. But in this pic Crazy K’s bum looks like two demented satsumas with scary sunburn. Funny I’ve never noticed the creepy rubbery texture before; ‘You’re looking at the wrong bum,’ she explains. ‘That’s the one I bought in Selfridges.’ She’d bought a blow-up bum when her boyfriend told her he likes a fatty but it turned out to be more of a farty and kept falling off so she gifted it to her mum. Spacemasks

Spaceship

If you have spent a day at the screen, the new self-heating eye mask from Spacemasks will be an extraordinary relief. Pop one on at night and feel a delicious warmth spreading over and around your eyes. Lie down first, though, as the heat is activated when you open the pouch. The heat exchange is generated by oxygen in the air ‘cuddling up’ (the brand’s own phrase) to iron particles in the fabric. It apparently lasts about 15 minutes, although I fell deeply asleep well before. A good night’s sleep is lovely in itself, but there was a bonus the next morning when I saw my sparkling, rested-looking eyes – indeed, my whole eye area was refreshed. Spacemasks are designed for a single use, but my eyes still looked and felt unusually bright after I used it a second night – although the heat didn’t repeat. At £15 for a pack of five, Spacemasks are not cheap but worth investing in if you suffer from eye strain or are feeling stressed – and for special occasions, too. Read More…

July Newsletter

beach postcard message in bottle

Welcome to the July newsletter where I tell you about a new product from NIOD (well four actually), which you all knew were coming, and now I make the announcement, with a twist, mostly because I just don’t want another ‘pre-order only’ scenario. Given prevailing circumstances (the wait lists!) across the DECIEM brands over the past few months, never has a product been so aptly named. Survival.

Also on this newsletter, India Knight sends me reeling (again), we have new products from Aurelia Probiotic Skincare and Sarah Chapman, Shabir takes a look at leaky gut syndrome and we report on a stunning new supplement for those of us who lack energy; I’m on it, trust me I’m on it! We will also take a look at all the latest news and feedback together with a product that flew out of the door after I wrote about it on the Addicts Bulletin and it’s happy birthday to two NIOD products, one of which has had a bit of an upgrade. Let’s do it: Read More…

June Newsletter

Spaceship

Welcome to the June newsletter where we launch two new brands and several new products; we do updates on NIOD and The Ordinary, of course we do, and we take a look at sinus congestion, together with a product Shabir recommends to help clear blackheads. There is a treat from Margaret Dabbs and for the second month running another VH Addict has jumped on board and entered the inner sanctum, although quite honestly she has been ‘inner sanctum’ for several years. Additionally I jump onto The Podium because there are things that need to be said, and I’m going to say them. Let’s do it: Read More…
