December Newsletter

december-newsletter-2-2017

Hello and welcome to the December newsletter. Historically this last newsletter of the year has always been rather different to the rest. Often referred to as the ‘bonkers newsletter’, each year we do something different and this year I have decided that we are going to do the first-ever-full-on VH Awards. Nobody has voted and in fact nobody knows anything about them except me and Shabir, who did another eyeroll to heaven when I told him that I had self-appointed myself to be judge and jury on proceedings.

Even before I start writing I know that it may well get out of control, but its been a bit of an ‘out of control’ year, so we may as well continue right to the end. As ever with the December newsletter, there are treats right the way through and you will need to read very carefully because I wouldn’t want you to miss out as we only have a limited amount, so you will need to be fast for some of them.

That said, what would a newsletter be if we didn’t launch some new products. I am going to begin with two new launches and then I’m going to change into an incredible Dolce & Gabbana creation (in my dreams), plonk a tiara on my head and present the awards. Let’s go: Read More…

July Kits

world map

We love a kit at Beauty Bible – for two very good reasons. One is the obvious travel factor: while we aren’t quite at the stage of sawing toothbrushes in half to make our luggage lighter (apparently backpackers do this regularly!), we do like to lighten the load with travel sizes of some of our favourite products. In many cases, packing ‘kit-sized’ items means we can get away with hand luggage, at least for short-haul.

But secondly, we always love to sample new products (yes, despite the fact that we get sent about three truckloads of stuff to try over the course of a typical year). And a kit is a low-risk way of doing that, letting us/you decide whether to spring for a bigger/ginormous version. You get to sample the smell, the texture – and in some cases, you’ll experience the instant benefits. Read More…

Gorgeous At 37,000 Feet

Gorgeous-At-37,000-Feet

I love a flight. Ideally, alone (well, without a travelling companion of my own – I can easily block out the 300 or so others), when I can turn my tray table into a desk and almost get more done on a long-haul flight than a couple of days in the office.

Because I have to fly quite often for work, I’ve even mastered the art of sleeping well on an overnighter: forget those little inflatable U-shaped pillows; I smoosh my full-size down pillow into my hand luggage, in a fresh pillowcase, and so long as I have a window seat (which enables me to lean against the cabin wall), I can make myself comfy enough to get plenty of zzzzzs. (The late Evelyn Lauder – who travelled endlessly yet always looked daisy-fresh – once told me she swore by the same trick.) Read More…

Get your body & mind back on track in 2014, with Annee’s advice

If there’s one thing NOT to do in January/February, it’s detox!

After the extra mince pies, pud and stocking chocolates, your system won’t thank you for it. Instead, I simply make an effort to go back to my normal way of eating – nurturing my system with healing hot foods like soups, stews and broths, filled with seasonal vegetables and grains. Once your body is strengthened in this way, it does the job of detoxing itself very efficiently indeed, so there really is no need to go on a hunger strike. Some friends swear by going raw, or sticking to just juice in January, but I think it really puts a strain on the spleen – both Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine believe that healing, warm foods are essential to staying healthy during the coldest months, and if you really want to go on a fast, wait until spring, when the warmer weather will aptly support your cleansing system.
