PHB Ethical Beauty: What You Need To Know

PHB Ethical Beauty

‘Clean beauty’ isn’t a phrase that many people like because it is very vague in its definition. We are willing to go out on a limb and hazard a guess that PHB Ethical Beauty is a brand that most people would consider ‘clean’. It’s natural, organic, vegan-friendly, Halal certified, the majority of its packaging is recyclable and the brand donates 20% of its net profit to charity.

While the sheer amount of products could be overwhelming if you’re just browsing, the three lines: Balance, Gentle and Superfood makes finding the right product for your skin type relatively straight forward. Plus, the lightweight, fast-absorbing textures that aren’t always associated with natural products, mean that you can’t go wrong.

For those who would like a little bit of a helping hand, here are some tailored skincare routines using PHB Ethical Beauty.

If you have normal-to-combination skin…

Your first port of call should be the Superfood range. The careful balance of detoxifying pink clay and hydrating hyaluronic acid in the Superfood Cleanser helps to remove any built-up dirt, grime and make-up from the day without leaving it feeling dry or stripped. If you’re battling with a particularly oily T-zone, it’s worth using the Balance Skin Tonic on the specific area, before you apply the Superfood Brightening Serum and the Superfood Brightening Moisturiser.

These two formulas are packed full of skin brightening and hydrating ingredients, including kojic acid, vitamin C, turmeric and hyaluronic acid. For an extra brightening boost and to help ease any dark spots it’s also worth looking at the bestselling Skin Brightener Bio-Gel, which can be used all over but is particularly good as fading the appearance of pigmentation thanks to the licorice and neroli.

If you have dry, sensitive skin…

Dry skin can often feel a little more sensitive, so we would recommend starting with the Gentle range. The soothing Gentle Cleanser is free from fragrance and essential oils to prevent any irritation and helps to clean and create the perfect canvas for your serums and moisturisers. We would recommend following with the Gentle Face & Eye Serum, as well as the Gentle Moisturiser, which despite containing shea butter as the lightest, creamiest texture that helps give skin a little bit of TLC.

For particularly sore, dry patches, press another layer of the Gentle Moisturiser onto skin in the evening before you go to bed. Keeping your skin hydrated with help strengthen its barrier and help to prevent inflammation and reduce sensitivity. PHB Ethical Beauty has kept the ingredients in the Gentle range to a minimum to prevent any potential irritation.

If you have oily, blemish-prone skin…

The Balance formulas were made with blemish-prone skin in mind. The alcohol-free Balance Skin Tonic is a particular hero and can be used all over or just on problem areas. While the salicylic acid helps to gently exfoliate and unblock pores, the lavender oil helps to eliminate bacteria and rebalance skin.

If you feel that you are always fighting a losing battle with oil it can be tempting to forgo moisturiser to avoid that greasy film that forms throughout the day. However, this can dry your skin out and therefore increase your oil production. It’s better to keep your skin hydrated with a lightweight moisturiser. The Balance Moisturiser contains lavender oil, as well as sea buckthorn and geranium to help regulate your oil production and help clear your skin. There’s also a nifty Blemish Gel to help calm and soothe problem areas. PHB Ethical Beauty really do have everything covered.

The first 15 people to purchase a product from the PHB Ethical Beauty range today (Friday 6th September 2019) will also receive a complimentary full-size Superfood Brightening Serum, worth £36, because we’re pretty sure you’re going to love it as much as we do. All you  need to do is enter EB15 at the checkout.
