March Newsletter 2012

1378785_89295328

Welcome to the March newsletter where we take a look at some new products, we prepare ourselves for Spring and I have quite a lot of news to report. We have some fabulous new features from the VH Editorial Team and somebody is going to get a big surprise when they find themselves on The Podium this month! One of our bestselling products was launched exactly a year ago, so I’ll be writing all about that, together with an update on a product famine, which is driving me so bonkers that I might just have to kill myself! So, let’s begin and I’m starting with some new product launches.

Instant Miracle Mask: Sarah Chapman

If a product launches with the word ‘miracle’ in it, then that is exactly what I expect – a miracle. If the word ‘miracle’ is preceded by the word ‘instant’, then I expect that too – an instant difference. Now I love and adore Sarah Chapman, her facials are pretty extraordinary and she is a perfectionist, so the whole concept of bringing her Clinic Collection to each of our bathrooms is rather clever. This flash effect skin perfecting mask was created from Sarah’s signature treatment setting mask used in her award-winning facials and so it was my absolute pleasure to put this one to the test in my own bathroom.

Loaded with a cocktail of high performance actives, such as Argan, Morrocan Lava Clay, Hyaluronic Acid, Brown Sea Algae and Vitamin C, each box contains four x Instant Miracle Masks, one shaker and one spatula. In a nutshell you shake, paint, peel and reveal and the whole process takes literally seconds to prepare, but you absolutely must follow the instructions, apply the mask really quickly and then leave to set for approximately 15 minutes. I have to say that I have never tested anything quite like this before and I felt like I was some mad professor in a lab (you will completely understand if you try it!), but it absolutely is an instant miracle, I adored the lifting sensation and if you want even better results, then layer your skin first with a booster serum, such as Sarah’s Intense Hydrating Booster, which is quite brilliant.

When I think a product is pretty awesome, and this is, I always send it for further testing, just to ensure that I haven’t gone and put myself on some hallucinatory journey. So I sent it to two super-critical VH testers and this is what they have to say:

VH Tester 1: Let’s make no mistake about this, it’s a messy little sucker; the shake and make is very quick and it lead me to rush a bit in the application, but only practice is needed here. Once off, the miracle is complete. Wow. I would say my skin looked ten years younger. I’ve been considering HA injections, but the Miracle Mask does that for you. My face looked better than any salon treatment I’ve had, any facial and it really was quite astounding, I couldn’t tear myself away from the mirror. Would I use it again? In a heartbeat. Shake, paint, peel and reveal. It doesn’t lie.

VH Tester 2: Well, this has to be the mother of all face masks! Not too glamorous in the application, but my word does it deliver instant results. The chilly weather, central heating and over-heated car journeys have not done my skin any favours recently, but after a mere 15 minutes, followed by a very satisfying process of peeling the mask off, I was literally amazed at the results. A definite must-have for anyone needing a pick-me-up that works instantly and continues to deliver even a few days later – I am smitten with this mask. Top Tip: You cannot wash the used mask away, so I lined my sink with cling-film when I removed it – et voila, wrap it all up and chuck it in the bin, mess free. Perfect!

I have an almost uncontrollable urge to walk away from this newsletter and go and apply another mask right now, but I shall discipline myself because I have another new product from Sarah Chapman to tell you about, so please read on.
Instant Miracle Mask by Sarah Chapman £38 for Four Sachets (so that’s just over £9 for each instant miracle!); Intense Hydrating Booster £57 for 30 ml

Professional Cleansing Mitts: Sarah Chapman

I’m so happy Sarah has decided to sell these wonderful cleansing mitts. She uses them during her facials and they feel so heavenly that you want to take them home with you, and I actually did. Apparently I was not alone, most of her clients wanted them and so here they are. You get four dual effect cotton and sponge mitts in each box and they were designed for a professional, comfortable deep cleanse, to help sweep away impurities and help reveal brighter, smoother, cleaner skin. The textured side is for exfoliation and the fine weave side can be used to remove eye make-up and is also recommended for sensitive skin. Simply soak the mitts in warm water, slot over four fingers and wipe away that grime! For a refreshing finish, soak the mitts in cold water and press all over the face. Love them!
Professional Cleansing Mitts £12 for Four Mitts

Acti-Tape

There are times when a new product lands on my desk and something ‘pings’ in my head, even before I’ve researched it. I could list a whole load of products that this has happened with, but I’ll save that for another time because I want to tell you about Acti-Tape, which I think is pretty neat.

Acti-Tape has its origins in therapeutic sports tapes for rehabilitation of injuries, providing support to joints and muscles and enhancing sports performance without affecting range of motion. The concept was initially developed in Japan in the late 1970’s, but today newer methodologies have been developed that help address benefits associated with preventative health maintenance, such as helping with the alleviation of pain; relaxing over-used and over-extended muscles; repositioning of joints; reducing oedema and helping to reduce inflammation and discomfort. Acti-Tape can also be used to ease pain in the lower back, knees, shins and feet.

The nature of the tape material is highly elastic and it helps lift the skin fractionally under the point of application when applied. This lifting supports the space between the skin and the muscle in order to allow easier body fluid flow under the application area. The reduction in pressure offers support for circulation and lymphatic drainage resulting in pain relief and the reduction of swelling.

Acti-Tape is water resistant, latex free, hypoallergenic and is as flexible as human skin. Each application of the tape is effective for approximately three to four days and it really does work. My ankles decided to swell for some unknown reason (might have to find a reason to blame Shabir!), and Acti-Tape took them right down. Impressive.
Acti-Tape £14.95 (5cm x 5metres)

Nozoil Nasal Spray: No More Itchy Nose!

I promise you that’s what is written on the box – talk about getting straight to the point! This product comes from the same stable as Nozohaem, the wonderful gel treatment that helps stop nose-bleeds, and it is a natural sesame oil-based spray that helps lubricate and soothe nasal passages. A simple, yet effective product, Nozoil helps eliminate nasal itchiness, whilst helping to prevent the formation of dried nasal mucous. Particularly beneficial to support the body’s natural defences against flu, I guess this little babe will also come into its own when the hay fever season kicks in.
Nozoil Nasal Spray £7.99 for 10 ml; Nozohaem £7.99 (4 x 5ml tubes)

Neuro-Mag – Magnesium L-Threonate

I have long been writing about magnesium and barely a newsletter goes by without me mentioning it. It is thought that over half of ageing humans in the developed world are magnesium deficient and whilst magnesium has been long known for its role in cardiovascular and bone health, energy metabolism and mood, researchers are now focusing intensely on magnesium’s benefit for cognitive function, with particular emphasis on magnesium deficiency being an overlooked cause of neurological decay (Alzheimer’s disease and associated memory loss).

Unfortunately it is very hard for the body to maintain optimal levels of magnesium in the brain as most magnesium supplements are not readily absorbed into the central nervous system. Scientists have been challenged to find a way to raise magnesium levels in the brain and an innovative team of researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recently found a way to surmount this obstacle. They formulated a new magnesium compound called magnesium L-threonate (MgT) that allows for oral administration while maximizing magnesium ‘loading’ into the brain. Ongoing research at MIT reveals several new roles for MgT in managing memory, including the mitigation of unwanted memories associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Scientific research and development is at the very core of our future health and wellbeing and the world is a far richer place when the brilliance of a team of scientists come together to deliver a cutting-edge product that may dramatically help change the lives of a new generation. Just awesome.
Neuro-Mag by Life Extension £32.95 for 90 Capsules

StressGard – Night-Time Dental Guard

Most of us do not know we are grinding our teeth and commonly it is your dentist that will first see the wear on your teeth and tell you that you are grinding. But it isn’t only about your teeth; other signs are morning headaches, neck pain, ear pain, jaw pain or sore facial muscles. The correct terminology for teeth grinding is ‘bruxism’, which is the involuntary grinding or clenching of the jaw and teeth. This is a subconscious behaviour done mainly at night when you are asleep and more often than not, the leading cause of bruxism is stress.

Orthodontically developed in America, StressGard is an effective solution to protecting the teeth and jaw from the effects of teeth grinding and clenching. It has been designed with a patented flexible groove to help you deal with the daily stress and tension that may cause you to clench and grind your teeth. Simply place the StressGard between the upper and lower lip and the bite tabs between your upper and lower teeth.

I gave this to a VH Tester who is rather infamous for her headaches and migraines and although it is very early days, she has taken to wearing it when relaxing at night before she goes to bed. She says that she finds it strangely relaxing to wear whilst watching television as weirdly she figures that watching must make her clench her jaw. Further reports to come, but this simple little gizmo could help solve some rather major issues. One size fits all and if you are very stressed and suffer from any of the above symptoms, then try using this for a month and take a course of Magnolia Rhodiola Complex alongside for a month also. The results could be very interesting!
StressGard £12.99; Magnolia Rhodiola Complex £26 for 60 Capsules

News and Updates

There are more new product launches to come, but for now let’s do some news and updates:

Superior Joints: I wrote at the beginning of this newsletter about a product famine and this is it. So here’s the story, we launched Superior Joints a few months ago, the feedback started to come in and it was fabulous. Sarah Stacey and Jo Fairley (the Beauty Bible girls) both take it and both swear by it, so Sarah wrote about it on Health Notes in YOU magazine and it went completely mad. I really thought we had enough stock, but we didn’t because nobody could have anticipated the extraordinary demand. We had already placed a large order with the American manufacturers before the feature appeared in the press, but it is being held up because one of the ingredients, Natural Eggshell Membrane (NEM), is in such demand in the US, we have had to stand in line.

To date I have written two apology emails to everybody on the wait list and I’m almost frightened to second-guess when it will arrive, but I’m hoping that it will be within two weeks. I’ve got a whole stash of emails from customers who have been taking Superior Joints and can’t live without it. The wait list grows every day and so does my headache. So just to say that I am so, so sorry, but it’s out of my control and if you are nearly running out, I suggest you add your name to the list right now!
Superior Joints £29.95 for 60 Capsules

White Paper: Take Control of Your Acne: Nearly everyone will suffer from spots and pimples at some point in their lives and indeed it is estimated that well over 85% of the population will develop acne between the ages of 12-25 years. Approximately 25% of these sufferers will have some form of scarring, be it mild or severe. But it isn’t just adolescents who suffer from acne as it is thought that one in five adults also suffer from acne. For many acne sufferers, the embarrassment leads to stress and in the worst case scenario, even depression. It is therefore not hard to understand why people spend so much time, effort and money to try and find a solution to acne and with the endless range of over-the-counter products, they often resort to their doctor for help. Unfortunately, the usual prescription medicines are not without side-effects, often attempting to treat the symptoms, rather than the causal factors.

In this far-reaching White Paper, Shabir’s hope is that it gives a better understanding of why people get acne, the current treatments available for acne and what can be done to help prevent it. We released this document just a few days ago and it has already been acclaimed as life-changing. If you suffer from acne, or you know somebody who does, please do take the time to read this.
White Paper: Take Control of your Acne

This Week with Gill: I have always been very sensitive about the volume of emails we send to each of you because I know how annoyed I get when I am constantly bombarded, sometimes on a daily basis, with email bulletins. At the moment we just send this newsletter on a monthly basis and the weekly ’60 Seconds’ to our database and I feel that is quite enough (unless you start telling me otherwise!). Having said that, things happen round here on a daily basis and often I will hold back dramatic news until the next newsletter is published. So bring on ‘This Week with Gill’, which you will find on the front of our site. I update this daily and quite literally anything goes from a world event to a new product launch and heaven knows what else! Hope you like it and do check in regularly because I would hate you to miss something fabulous!

This Works

Many of you are big This Works fans, so you might get a bit over-excited to discover three new products that have just been launched. I am going to write about each of them below, but there is an added treat, so please read carefully. The first 100 people who order any (or all!) of these three products, will receive a 15ml tube of the award-winning Perfect Cleavage (worth just over £9). Right, let’s go:

Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser: This is a luxury cleanser, which gently removes all traces of make-up and restores balance for all skin types. Rich in Rosehip essential oil, Vitamin A, Frankincense and Eucalyptus, this cleanses without stripping. Just massage lightly with your fingertips onto the facial area and rinse with warm water.
Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser £19 for 120 ml

Clean Skin 5-in-1 Water: We all have a preferred method of cleansing and this rosewater cleanser gently cleanses, balances, brightens, refreshes and removes all traces of make-up. Rosewater and fruit-packed botanical waters help shed skin cells and boosts elasticity. A pH balancing formula, this is also loaded with Olive and Almond oils to cleanse and Wild Water Mint to cool and tone. Pump onto a cotton pad and apply to the entire facial area as often as desired.
Clean Skin 5-in-1 Water £21 for 200 ml

Clean Skin Refining Toner: This highly concentrated toner is soothing, yet astringent and has been formulated with Velvet Flower, blended with amino acids to help fade age spots, and Malachite, a mineral source for stressed skin. You can either spray this onto your face or onto a cotton pad and it should be used after cleansing.
Clean Skin Refining Toner £19 for 120 ml

Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora)

Australian Lemon Myrtle has been used as a bush food and a natural remedy for many centuries, but recently the value of this botanical has been rediscovered. The essential oil has been shown to have strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral qualities. Studies carried out by scientists at the Charles Sturt University of New South Wales have confirmed that it has around a 30% higher anti-microbial activity than Tea Tree essential oil and these properties lend the oil to being an excellent ‘active’ in the following three new products:

Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil: I adore the uplifting and refreshing aroma of this essential oil, but beyond the aroma is a potent anti-microbial agent with one of the highest levels of Citral (up to 98%) in a natural essential oil. In topical use Lemon Myrtle oil should be diluted with a carrier oil at a level of one drop to 10 ml carrier oil and it can be used for various skin conditions and fungal infections such as athletes foot. It can also be used to effectively kill germs, whilst eradicating unwanted household smells. This is the bit that I like because I do so love a bit of ‘clean’. You can add several drops to the hot water in your mop bucket, to the dishwasher, and a couple of drops to your toilet and sinks. Lemon Myrtle rules!
Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil £5.95 for 10 ml

Lemon Myrtle Multi-Purpose Spray: A fine mist that is an excellent deodoriser when sprayed into any affected room. The mist helps destroy airborne germs associated with bad odour and it is also a natural insect repellent. Try using this spray on your feet (lemon feet – fabulous!) and it is also a great household surface cleaner.
Lemon Myrtle Multi-Purpose Spray £5.95 for 125 ml

Lemon Myrtle Multi-Purpose Liquid Soap: This simple multi-purpose liquid soap has been formulated to use either as an anti-bacterial soap, shower gel, bath additive, a shampoo to help prevent dandruff on the scalp and also to provide gentle protection from head lice. It’s got coconut in it too, so it smells rather good!
Lemon Myrtle Multi-Purpose Liquid Soap £5.95 for 250 ml

Happy Birthday Skin Restoring Ceramides

It is exactly a year ago that we launched Skin Restoring Ceramides and what a year it has been; it immediately shot straight into our top five bestselling supplements and has remained there ever since. Just because I feel like it, I am replicating what I wrote last March as I get down on my knees and once again worship the brilliance of this product. Here we go:

When I read the research on ceramide supplementation, I started screeching like a complete lunatic (most ladylike!) and demanded that Shabir found the best possible ceramide supplement in the world for me (and you!) because I decided that my face might fall apart without taking this stuff. This is in addition to my HA habit it has to be said.

Ceramides are essential for preserving healthy-looking skin, which is why they are included in so many anti-ageing face creams. Elizabeth Arden were the pioneers in this field and today practically every major skincare company has invested massive amounts of research money in perfecting unique molecules called ceramides, which help revive and hydrate ageing skin.

The body’s production of ceramides declines with age and since ceramides make up approximately 35-40% of the binding matrix that maintains moisture balance and helps protect the skin’s surface, it is pretty critical that the ceramides lost to ageing are replaced. The ceramides that young skin naturally produces to retain its supple appearance are identical to those present in wheat. Wheat-derived oils have been used topically for centuries as a natural moisturiser, but unfortunately you can’t get enough ceramides from topically applied wheat oil to have a long-term impact on your skin’s appearance, which is why Shabir is recommending Skin Restoring Ceramides with Lipowheat.

Lipowheat ceramide supplementation has been available to Japanese women for the past decade and in one recent groundbreaking study, 200 mg per day of orally ingested ceramides, derived from wheat, completely restored hydration in 95% of participants suffering from dry, flaky, itchy skin. It was also noted that ceramides may effectively help combat bacterial infection of the skin such as dermatitis and eczema. It just gets better by the moment. So just released in America and now over here, I invite you to join me in taking Skin Restoring Ceramides, because we have dug deep and done the ceramide research and this is THE one to take!
Skin Restoring Ceramides with LipoWheat by Life Extension £25 for 30 Liquid Capsules

The Podium

I think I may be risking my life doing this, but I’m prepared to take a chance as I put Ms Sarah Stacey onto this month’s podium. Now there are several reasons why I am doing this as you are about to read, but for those who don’t know, Sarah is the Health Editor of The Mail on Sunday YOU magazine, one half of Beauty Bible (the other half being Ms Josephine Fairley of course) and she is also a member of the VH Editorial team. And Sarah is getting married, so let’s do that first because it is truly wonderful news…..

Except that I’m not allowed to be a bridesmaid. I’m not the only one to have offered my services, Jo Fairley (Sarah’s Beauty Bible co-author) also got rejected. But we have actually figured out that as Sarah will hopefully be walking forwards and not backwards, she won’t know what’s going on behind her, so we’re going to follow her, which has kept all of us amused for the past couple of weeks. Sarah is a bit bonkers about her horses, so Jo has dubbed this event ‘My Big Fat Horsey Wedding’ and this of course gives us an open field, as it were, to theme the ‘happening’. I’m not writing any more as Sarah is obviously going to be reading this, but think pantomime horses, Jo in the front and me at the back!

So having put Sarah on the podium, it gives me an opportunity to tell you a little bit about the Sarah you may not know. We all come together with a shared passion about making a difference in the world and each of us are diligent when writing about health and beauty, but there are other things too. Sarah is currently working on a project for the 21st Anniversary of RAPt (Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners trust). More Tales From The Landings is a ‘slender volume’ that tells the stories of nine men and women whose addiction landed them in prison but whose lives have been transformed by this charity. I have read three of the interviews and they are completely gripping. This important work will take many of us into a world we have little knowledge of, but need to know about. Partly because there – but for the grace of God – go many of us, and also because we should never forget the potential for transformation in everyone.

I just want to finish this section by saying that I will publish a link to More Tales From The Landings when it is launched in April. It is very important to me that VH is not just about selling products and it never has been. We have a platform that was always intended to be used in a far broader sense and trust me, we shall be using that platform more and more.

My ‘Essential Six’ for Optimum Health

I have often written about the supplements that Shabir and I take, but although there is some crossover, we don’t actually take exactly the same supplements. I think most of you know what I take because I talk about them all the time, but now it’s Shabir’s turn and he has written an article about his essential six supplements. I will link you to the article at the bottom of this section, but I was going to write about the importance of probiotics in this newsletter, and joy upon joy, I don’t need to do it now! So here is an excerpt from Shabir’s article and I would just add that I take Mega Probiotic ND religiously as it helps control bloating rather spectacularly.

For centuries, many cultures have recognized the importance of probiotics, even if they were not aware of the term, by including pickled and fermented foods within their diet for intestinal health. We are now exposed greatly to chemical residues in foods and many of us regularly consume drugs, which affect the beneficial bacteria of the gut. Most of us overlook the fact that we regularly consume antibiotics by eating meat and drinking milk from animals raised in farming practices that routinely use drugs for promoting growth of livestock and for preventing disease. Whilst fermented foods may have helped in the past, these simply will not provide sufficient bacteria with today’s chemical exposure, the use of antibiotics, and other factors that destroy the beneficial bacteria within our guts.

Probiotics play a crucial role in immunity and over 80% of our immunity arises out of the gut and there are more bacteria in the human body than cells. Astounding facts, but true, these bacteria manufacture vital immune enhancing compounds that ensure the optimal working of the immune system. These bacteria also help to eliminate excess acid in the gut that has seeped through from the stomach thus keeping inflammation at bay which is why most people with gastric inflammatory concerns benefit from the use of probiotics and they also help to manufacture some nutrients including B vitamins.

The single biggest challenge facing us is to ensure that we can get sufficient quantities of these beneficial bacteria into the gut since the stomach is highly acidic and destroys the vast majority of these bacteria since they are acid-sensitive. A supplement that I recommend for children above two and adults is Mega Probiotic ND by Food Science of Vermont. This probiotic supplement contains eight strains of bacteria that are coated enterically with a protein coating protecting them from the harsh acidic environment of the stomach. The supplement is also dairy free which helps many who are sensitive to dairy products.
My ‘Essential Six’ for Optimum Health; Mega Probiotic ND £18.50 for 60 Capsules

Sea Band Mama

Many of you may be aware of Sea Bands, the wrist bands that have been clinically tested against nausea and vomiting in travel, pregnancy, anaesthesia, chemotherapy and all conditions which induce nausea. Now they have just launched three new products specifically formulated for pregnancy and they are really quite brilliant:

Sea Band Mama – Morning Sickness Relief: A pair of acupressure wrist bands, which help in the effective relief of morning sickness as well as other forms of nausea. The bands can be put onto your wrists before you feel nauseous, or at any time during the day when you feel the effects of nausea.
Sea Band Mama – Morning Sickness Relief £8.15 for one pair of wrist bands

Sea Band Mama – Ginger Lozenges with Folic Acid: As a food supplement, ginger has been used to support upset tummies for thousands of years. These naturally soothing ginger lozenges also include folic acid, helping provide vital nutrients that contribute to normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.
Sea Band Mama – Ginger Lozenges with Folic Acid £4.60 for 24 Lozenges

Sea Band Mama – Essential Oil Rollette: Specially formulated by healthcare professionals, this pocket sized rollette contains a handmade, soothing blend of essential oils to help settle your stomach during pregnancy. In a base of moisturising grapeseed oil, the rollette includes invigorating and cleansing lime oil, cleansing spearmint oil and warming, calming and settling ginger oil. It’s really easy to use, just roll a small amount onto wrists, temples or chest in the morning or as required. Am thinking that we can all use this, not just pregnant women as we all suffer from upset tummies at some time or other. Into my bag it goes!
Sea Band Mama – Essential Oil Rollette £4.99 for 10 ml

Lanolips

If I was to write a book about the life and times of VH (don’t worry, I’m not!), then working with Kirsten Carriol, the creator of Lanolips, would feature as one of the highlights. It is hard to believe that this brand is still in its formative years, it has come so far and yet we are only at the beginning of a fascinating journey. So there are a couple of things that I want to tell you about and we’ll kick off with the Herbal Treatment Body Oil and I’ll follow up with customer feedback on Golden Ointment.

Kirstin recently commissioned some independent clinical research where Herbal Treatment Oil was measured against a market leader in this category. I am not going to name the product, but after eight weeks of testing, it was found that the percentage improvement on skin hydration was 223% better than the market leader and it also showed a 30% improvement on skin elasticity and a 42% increase on the moisturising effect. Niche brands rule – Go Lanolips!
Lanolips Healing Treatment Body Oil £9.99 for 60 ml

Golden Ointment: From a customer: ‘After one application to a little patch of troublesome skin next to my eyebrow, I noticed an immediate improvement. This is amazing because I have never been able to use products that contain lanolin, but I have had this patch of skin for many years and nothing else has touched it. I plan to use the Golden Ointment every night and my skin feels hydrated already. I’m 55 and think that I’ve stumbled upon a little miracle’.
Lanolips Golden Ointment £17.99 for 50 grams

VH Editorial

I love this section of the newsletter, mostly because I’m writing about what the VH Editorial team have written about and all I have to do is read it, put it live on our site and tell you about it. So this month the Beauty Bible girls give you tips for nails and you can also discover the supplement that Sarah swears has revolutionised her fingertips and Lanolips Lip Aid finds its way into the article too. In a separate article, Jo Fairley tells us how to keep our chin up – it’s very funny!
VH Editorial: Nail Tips by Beauty Bible; Keeping Your Chin Up by Jo Fairley

Embarking on her 26th year of beauty, Kate Shapland has a dream where she manages to drift off into the realms of fantasy. It is of course all about legs and I think this feature will absolutely delight Kate’s avid followers. Do follow The Legologist because she is about to embark on a very interesting journey and she is going to let me hold her hand – she must need her head examined!!
VH Editorial: The Legologist Has A Dream

Before I tell you about Lulu’s feature, I just need to mention that I ‘stole’ a top-secret product straight out of her hands a couple of weeks ago. I couldn’t help myself, it was the only prototype in the world and we will be launching it exclusively. I can’t even tell you when it will launch, all I will say is that it is beyond fabulous, I have hidden it away and I only bring it out for very special occasions. I’m petrified that I’m going to finish it before the product launches because actually I don’t think I can live without it. Right, having said that, this month Lulu writes all about food, so if you want to know about her childhood addiction and what she eats now to stay in shape, then do read this article.
VH Editorial: Food by Lulu

Just mention the name Annee de Mamiel to any of our leading health and beauty journalists and they will all sigh and then tell you how absolutely amazing she is. For those of you who remember, I put Annee on The Podium about a year ago because I was so in awe of the work that she does. She is one of the world’s leading acupuncturists and she is passionate about her work. Each season Annee releases a new facial oil, so it is with the greatest pleasure that I can now let you know that her Spring Facial Oil will be available from the 5 March. Please do take the time to read Annee’s article, which is all about leaving the winter behind and the power of Spring.
VH Editorial: Spring by Annee de Mamiel; Spring Facial Oil £58 for 20 ml

I recently interviewed Norman Waterhouse, one of the five leading plastic surgeons who created Heal Gel. I’m actually not a journalist, so I don’t really know why I did this, except to say that I really, really like Norman and the boys are letting me launch two new Heal products later in the year, so I’m trying hard to behave myself. That aside, his story is quite fascinating, so I hope you enjoy it.

The End Bit

I’m going to finish this newsletter with some more news and I’ll also tell you about some of the products that seem to have developed wings, as they are flying out the door:

Femergy & B12 Boost Pure Energy: I recently wrote on ’60 Seconds’ that if you took these two products together you would be supersonically charged with energy. Lack of energy plagues most of us at some time or other, so I’m not really surprised that there are thousands of us popping Femergy and spraying B12 Boost on a regular basis. Love this combination because it works.
Femergy £10.25 for 60 Vegicaps; B12 Boost £11.95 for 25 ml

Panda Teether: So cute, this award-winning Panda Teether was recently featured in YOU magazines and it all went a bit bonkers. I’ve got one on my desk, just because it makes me happy looking at him. Do also try Teetha from Nelsons, because according to those in the know, these ready-dosed granules simply dissolve in your baby’s mouth and gently help ease the pain of teething and help relieve discomfort.
Panda Teether £8.99; Teetha by Nelsons £4.95 for 24 sachets

Happiness Candles by NEOM: I wrote all about these candles on the February newsletter, so click here to read what I wrote. This is just to say that the candles are now in stock and they are gorgeous.
Happiness Home Candle £37.50; Happiness Travel Candle £13

HA: I just want to pre-warn you that there has been a slight delay in the manufacture of HA. I’m not sure that we are going to make it through without having to declare a famine for a few days, so if you are close to finishing your supply, can I suggest that you order now before it is all too late. If you don’t mind, I’ve taken a jar; my face is not falling down because the manufacturers are having a go-slow moment!
Hyaluronic Acid by NHS Labs £35 for 30 Capsules

Sage Complex: Another ‘winged’ product. There must be something clashing in the planets or a whole load of us are throwing mood swings all at the same time. As most of you know, Sage Complex is the must-take supplement for peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms and it seems to be the season for it!
Sage Complex

SilkSkin Pillowcases: An update. The demand for the SilkSkin pillowcases is so strong, that there are times there could be a slight delay in getting them to you. These are specially commissioned, thus it is sometimes difficult to keep up with demand, but they are worth the wait and once again I am going to refer you to the February newsletter where I wrote all about SilkSkin bedding. Click here
SilkSkin

Finally, we come to the end of another newsletter and so together with Shabir, the VH team and the VH editorial team, I thank you for your loyalty for your amazing support.

I hope that you all have a wonderful March and I’ll be back next month with some more amazing product launches, which I know you will love. Finally I now get to go to my bathroom and slap on that Instant Miracle Mask!

With love
