March: An Update

Yesterday, having literally just got back from America, I sent this update to the VH Addicts and I am more or less replicating what I wrote to each of them.

We are living in very strange times and all we can do is continue to be pragmatic in our advice and support. With so many conflicting views and information on COVID-19, all I can say right now is that we have to take each day as it comes and do the best we possibly can under the circumstances.

Since the beginning of VH time, we have always recommended taking immunity supplementation from the first day of autumn until the first day of spring, but obviously our advice would now be to continue taking supplementation for the foreseeable future. In and of itself, this is creating issues as a global shortage of raw ingredients means we have to adjust the products we recommend almost on a daily basis.

I am vehemently against fear-marketing and we have been bombarded with manufacturers ‘peddling’ ineffective products with huge claims. They have no place on our site and it’s all I can do not to explode with anger at the blatant exploitation, so with our feet firmly rooted on the ground, the following words and recommendations from Shabir:

Daily Immunity

For those of you who have Daily Immunity, take one capsule twice a day ongoing. Daily Immunity contains a comprehensive range of vitamins, minerals, herbs and probiotics all known to boost the workings of the immune system ensuring that there are sufficient white blood cells to destroy bacteria and viruses. The major anti-viral herbs within Daily Immunity are oregano leaf and elderberry.

Daily Immunity is currently out of stock; we believe that a further consignment will arrive at the beginning of April, but as with everything, that may be subject to change. In any event, it could be prudent to get onto the wait list. For the moment, and until we receive Daily Immunity, we are recommending Mushroom Gold from Pukka Herbs. Mushrooms provide a variety of compounds collectively known as beta-glucans, which help increase immune defence by encouraging the production of white blood cells.
Daily Immunity £26 for 60 Capsules; Mushroom Gold by Pukka Herbs £21.95 for 60 Capsules (whilst stock lasts)

Liposomal Vitamin C

We know that vitamin C when used in moderate strengths does tend to help recovery from colds and flu. There are some ridiculous amounts being recommended and so we recommend taking just two teaspoons daily of Liposomal C since this is a very efficient delivery form of vitamin C, unlike most other vitamin C supplements which generally cannot deliver more than 50% of the content at best. We are currently out of stock of Liposomal Vitamin C and the dosages refer to this product, but we are anticipating another consignment arriving as soon as the manufacturers can get it to us; shortly I hope, but we have no confirmed dates. In the meantime we are substituting with Liposomal Vitamin C by YourZooki.
Liposomal Vitamin C by Aurora Nutrascience £20 for 160 ml; Liposomal Vitamin C by YourZooki £39.99 for 30 x 15 ml Sachets

This amino acid is normally used very successfully to prevent and treat cold sores (the herpes virus). It works to block the “food” for the cold sore virus to replicate and in doing so it basically starves the virus of food whilst the body’s immune system is fighting the virus. Lysine’s ability to fend off other viral infections has also been clinically studied, although not for COVID-19 obviously. We recommend taking one tablet three times a day and this should be taken preferably on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before any food or 1.5 hours after a meal.
L-Lysine by Lamberts £10.45 for 120 Tablets

Back to me and as I have said above, the situation regarding stock levels is changing constantly and our home page will reflect these changes as best we possibly can. But through all of this, a moment of serendipity:

We were in Vegas earlier this week as we had a meeting with the manufacturers of our Fulvic products. As we were watching Fulvic Acid Shampoo roll off the production line, I turned around and saw another product on another production line. Glory be, it was a hand sanitiser and it was all I could do to stop myself from fainting in shock knowing that we were out of stock of all the hand sanitisers we list.

Long cut short, we have a large consignment arriving at the beginning of next week; it is called DermSafe and it has been clinically tested to actively protect hands for up to six hours. Containing 4% chlorhexidine gluconate, an anti-viral and antimicrobial agent, it is bound to a copolymer and being alcohol free, it is kind to hands, while also helping to prevent cross-contamination. Let that production line continue to roll is what I say!
DermSafe Hand Sanitiser by Invisicare £14 for 59 ml; DermSafe Hand Sanitiser Family Pack £35 (3 x 59 ml)

Sheald Recovery Balm

The somewhat epic Sheald Recovery Balm has had a baby. I think most of you know I am besotted with iS Clinical products, my LA boyfriends (Bryan and Alec, the founders of iS Clinical) and Sheald Recovery Balm, in no particular order. And now the pocket (handbag) size has arrived.

Ultra-cute, this certainly is on my list of the best products ever made and I dubbed it as ‘the ultimate SOS Emergency Balm’ a very long time ago. It is the perfect on-the-go intensive treatment and it can be used in so many different ways. Use post-procedure to help prevent scabbing and itching, minimise scars and it is brilliant for wound healing. It can be used on open wounds, but it is also a great daily moisturiser for extremely cracked and dry skin and that would include hands, which is rather topical.
Sheald Recovery Balm Pocket Size by iS Clinical £20 for 15 grams; Sheald Recovery Balm by iS Clinical £42 for 60 ml

At this given point, I have no idea what I will be writing on the April newsletter, but in the meantime I am glugging back Fulvic Acid Elixir and Broc-On Shots, basically because I can, but also because Fulvic helps the body to heal, renew and restore at a cellular level. Meanwhile Broc-On is packed with vitamins and minerals and I’ll take that thank you.
Fulvic Acid Elixir £30 for 480 ml; Broc On £75 for 30 Shots

I will of course send further updates if we need to.
Together with Shabir and the entire VH team, I wish each of you a safe and restful weekend.

With love
