Welcome to the July newsletter where we launch a new supplement that will whizz up your energy levels, we throw the focus on legs (the good, the bad and the ugly), we introduce you to two new products from the Peace range (yes, it’s love!) and Shabir takes a look at overcoming menopausal vaginal dryness as well as investigating the facts and myths about Acai Berry. There are a few treats thrown in throughout the newsletter, including a very limited gift from Phylia de M, so you will need to read carefully and get those fingers tapping on your keyboard pretty fast! That said, we are going to kick off with a treat and then follow through with the new product launches, so let’s go:
We’ve done Fabulous Skin and Fabulous Hair on previous newsletters, so now we do legs. Yes, our legs are about to emerge over the next couple of months and so we have put together a regimen to help give you ‘fabulous legs’ almost instantly. Having said that, I need to tell you that my legs rarely come out as I prance around in jeans most of the year, with just a little exposure around the ankle when I do cropped jeans, but I still take care of my legs (and feet) all year round, because it makes me feel better.
So if you are headed to the beach, or we actually get summer in the UK, prepare your legs in advance because there is nothing worse than exposing ‘dry, white, winter legs’. Incidentally, I don’t sunbathe in jeans, promise (!) and I now give you, Fabulous Legs in three easy steps and you save money too:
Nourish: Although there are some great topical products available, the absolute first step is to work from the inside out by taking a supplement formulated to help prevent your skin from drying out. I could wax lyrical about Skin Restoring Phytoceramides because this is one of my must-take supplements of all time. Ceramides help maintain a healthy outer barrier that locks moisture in and helps prevent skin from drying out (I mean who wants ‘crocodile legs’). This supplement is actually ideal for all dry skin concerns, both on the face and on the body and clinical studies indicate a marked reduction in itching associated with dry skin. Good enough for me.
Skin Restoring Phytoceramides £25 for 30 Liquid Capsules
Exfoliate: I’ve often written about the Geisha Smoothing Towel because I think everybody should have one and it’s so easy to use, especially around your back and shoulders. I know it’s pretty sad, but I love watching dead skin cells fall onto the floor in my bathroom and this easy-care nylon towel buffs skin to a smooth, even shine.
Geisha Smoothing Towel £5.65
Finish: This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle is an award-winning skin product specifically formulated for legs – obvious from its name! Containing vitamins C and E, this is one of our bestselling beauty products because it does what it says on the bottle. This will deliver an immediate summer glow, shimmer and moisture and will also help even out skin tone. Just massage into dry skin and it can also be used all over the body for a top-to-toe sun-kissed glow.
This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle £37 for 120 ml
The Treat: You can of course buy each of the products listed individually, but we have put all three products together and called it ‘Fabulous Legs’. If you were to buy all three products individually, the cost would be £67.65, but my sharing gene has come out to play and you can buy ‘Fabulous Legs’ for £55, saving you £12.65. This offer will run for the duration of this newsletter because I’m kind and I care about your legs!
Fabulous Legs £55 (includes Skin Restoring Phytoceramides, Geisha Smoothing Towel and Perfect Legs Skin Miracle)
Daily Energy: About Change – New Supplement Launch
Over the years there have been several occasions when I have changed you all over to the latest next-generation product and I’m about to do it again. So please let me introduce you to Daily Energy, which of course does what it says on the bottle. Now I have been a massive fan of Sibergin for the longest time, but Daily Energy gives me the same dose as Sibergin, but with more ingredients to help support the Siberian Ginseng, which of course means that my energy levels are going up another notch, or three! So in a nutshell, er, actually a capsule, here it comes:
Daily Energy is a multi-herb and nutrient formula that helps boost physical and mental energy, helps prevent mid-afternoon slump and abates the effect of both physical and emotive stress, without the use of caffeine or artificial stimulants. A combination of ginsengs and nutrients reinforces the body’s natural defences while supporting the body’s own ability to demonstrate improved vitality and endurance. Black Pepper Root and Dimethylglycine deliver vital energising oxygen and nutrients to all the tissues of the body, helping to sustain energy throughout the day.
The added benefit is that Daily Energy will help counter stress as well as aiding concentration, so I’ve just swallowed a couple to help get me through writing this newsletter! Our research and development is on-going and it is of course my duty to inform you about the most cutting-edge and pioneering supplements. Daily Energy is now ‘best in class’, so as I said at the beginning of this section, it’s all change and I’ll meet you somewhere on the supersonic rocket fuelled journey!
Daily Energy £25 for 60 Capsules
Selexir Peace Products – Two More Product Launches
I need to tell you that after we launched Peace Balm on the June newsletter (click here if you missed it), there has been a whole lot of love for this amazing product, which doesn’t surprise me because at some time or other, we all have unhappy skin moments. So a couple of things here, first of all I am going to give you some feedback from one of our Addicts and the second thing is that we have released two new products from the Peace range. The feedback, which comes in two parts:
First email: OMG, Gill! I have a patch of moderate eczema on my left elbow and it had been troubling me today – very itchy, red, and the skin felt warm to touch. I applied my Peace Balm about four hours ago, and I’ve just looked at it now and the redness is gone, it’s no longer warm and inflamed, and also the itching has stopped! If it hadn’t happened to me, I wouldn’t believe it. I’m going to apply it to my eye area tonight and go to sleep hoping for a miracle!’
Second email: Just a quick note to say that the Peace Balm has worked wonders on my face. My eye area is looking much better, and while the eczema is not completely eradicated, it’s looking and feeling much, much better. There are very few creams I can use on my eye area at the moment without aggravating the eczema, and happily, the Peace Balm is one of them – it’s given much needed moisture to my eye area, and greatly reduced the itching and redness. I’m confident that in a week or so, I’ll have gotten rid of the eczema completely. The balm is so wonderfully thick that I’ve been using it as a night cream on my entire face and it’s improved the condition of my skin greatly. It’s a wonderful product – thank you for bringing it to VH.
Selexir Peace Balm £39 for 30 ml
Selexir Peace Bath – Instant Serenity Bath Salts
If you follow the life and times of VH, you will know that I have incredibly sensitive skin and I am allergic to all essential oils; this of course means that I am surrounded by gorgeous products that I can’t use, which aggravates me and delights Shabir because I can’t run home with a bag full of stock! So I was beyond excited when I discovered Selexir’s Peace Bath (Instant Serenity Bath Salts) because I can use this product and let me tell you, it is fabulous. Loaded with magnesium chloride (we LOVE the relaxing benefits of magnesium), black cumin seed extract and blackcurrant leaf extract, you only need to use a small amount in each bath and whilst you bathe away stress, the added benefit is that you can also soak away unhappy skin because the salts help relieve itchiness and mild eczema and psoriasis. Of course I have fallen head over heels in love, which will be evident from the soon-to-be diminishing stock levels (waving across the office to Shabir with a big smile on my face!).
Selexir Peace Bath - Instant Serenity Bath Salts £29 for 300 grams
Selexir Peace Capsules
The Selexir Peace Capsules complete the Selexir trilogy and are specifically formulated with a potent mix of highly antioxidant natural ingredients to help calm and nourish skin for a fresh, healthy glow. Peace Capsules contain a special blend of vitamins and minerals, including Selexir’s signature ‘serenity skin complex’ of blackcurrant seed and black cumin seeds to help balance reactive skin. When taken regularly, the supplement helps alleviate unhappy skin conditions, while Biotin, Vitamin B2, Zinc and selenium help prevent oxidative stress to give your skin a clear complexion. Do so love a supplement that targets compromised skin conditions and this goes right on my list of must-takes because I am prone to eczema, which seems to make an appearance when I am under stress. I know – I’m going to blame Shabir – yes, when the hat fits and all of that!
Selexir Peace Capsules £39 for 90 Capsules
Phylia de M – Re-Connect and a VERY Limited Gift
We launched Re-Connect on the May newsletter and I need to say that I am completely astounded at the response and feedback we have received. If you missed what I wrote, then please click here, but suffice it to say that Phylia has done it again exactly a year after we first launched Clean, Condition and Connect in the UK.
Clean £28; Condition £30; Connect £45; Three Step Kit (Clean, Condition and Connect) £103
I have often written about the respect I have for these products (like on nearly every newsletter for the past year or so!), but I strongly believe that cutting-edge, pioneering products need to be shouted about, mostly because hair loss/thinning hair is an emotive subject and it is a mine-field out there with claims flying left, right and centre about hair health and restoration. It is absolutely not good enough to claim sensational results from a clinical trial on just one ingredient, the clinical needs to be about the entire formulation because stuff happens to the efficacy when you blend ingredients. If I may refer you to an interview I did with Bryan Johns of Innovative Skincare (click here), this will highlight the issue and you also need to know that my Innovative Skincare LA boyfriends are massively impressed by Phylia. Think it’s a case of one immaculate brand recognising another.
If you are a YOU magazine reader, you will have seen the recent article on Phylia by Sarah Stacey, Health Editor of The Mail on Sunday YOU magazine. Sarah ‘unreservedly recommends’ Phylia and she uses the products herself (as do many leading health and beauty editors, but I’m not naming names!). In that article we put together a very special reader offer, which of course flew out the door, but I also had a certain volume created specifically for this newsletter, read on:
The first 100 people to buy Re-Connect will receive a Travel Size Kit, containing Clean, Condition and Connect, all presented in a special Phylia Washbag. This gift is worth £40 and will give you the opportunity of trying all three product if you have never used them before, and then adding in Re-Connect, which is the sister (or brother!) to the hero product, Connect. If you are a Phylia fan (as thousands of you are), then this is a neat kit to take away with you as the products last ages – less is more.
Before I get bombarded with requests, I just want to say that the Travel Kit was specifically manufactured as a special ‘one-off’ offer and you cannot buy the kit, so I say get it whilst you can and I’m guessing you will need to be pretty quick off the mark. Our website will indicate when this offer is over, so with love and kisses from me and Kazu Namise (founder of Phylia de M), get those fingers moving!
Re-Connect £60 for 120 ml with a Limited Edition Travel Kit (worth £40) included for the first 100 orders
Overcoming Menopausal Vaginal Dryness
Vaginal dryness during the menopause is one of the most common concerns associated with declining female sex hormones. It is estimated that one in four women experience vaginal dryness during menopause and typical symptoms including itching, painful intercourse as well as urinary discomfort. Not just confined during menopause, vaginal dryness can occur several years before the onset of menopause and for many, well beyond.
Glands located near the neck of the womb are responsible for producing a fluid that keeps the skin and tissues in the vagina moist and supple. The production of this fluid is directly dependent on the levels of oestrogen within the body and declining levels of oestrogen during menopause lead to vaginal dryness. Declining oestrogen levels are also responsible for the thinning and inflammation of the walls lining the vagina, making them weak and vulnerable to both bacterial and fungal infections.
To make matters worse, some women may also experience pain in the pelvic region as blood circulation decreases with declining oestrogen levels. For some women, the weakness in the walls of the vagina and the muscles surrounding it may also result in a problem of incontinence. All of these concerns can make life difficult, depressing and debilitating and so do take the time to read about these issues as Shabir investigates the remedies to help treat vaginal dryness.
VH Editorial: Overcoming Vaginal Dryness; Sage Complex £24.50 for 90 Capsules; Cellular Support £25.48 for 60 Softgels; Good Glide with Love Beads £15 for 100 ml
Mega Probiotic ND
Sigh, sigh, sigh! So there has been an ingredient famine, which has resulted in us running out of our bestselling probiotic, known and loved as Mega P round here. If only I had a crystal ball, I could write a predictive newsletter informing you in advance of product famines. As it is, the news arrived and whilst we had sufficient stock at the time, it has taken longer to get this supplement back into production than we originally anticipated, which of course has resulted in a long wait list.
You are not alone, I’m on that list too and I notice a vast difference when I’m not taking Mega P. Think bloating, think bad bacteria floating around, think depravation of a brilliant product. I always feel really bad when something like this happens, although it is of course out of my control. Nevertheless, once again I must stand up and take responsibility, so this is what we are going to do. If you order Mega Probiotic now, we will throw in another two week’s supply, worth £9.25 (30 capsules).
I’m afraid I cannot backdate this, so it runs from today, this will be on a first come, first served basis and our website will indicate when the offer is finished. Pretty neat to take the gift away with you if you are travelling; I wouldn’t go abroad without them because heaven knows what would happen if I ate something dodgy! For further information about these issues, do read The Most Common Summer Holiday Problems Solved, where Mega P makes a grand appearance!
VH Editorial: The Most Common Summer Holiday Problems Solved; Mega Probiotic ND £18.50 for 60 Capsules together with Free Gift of 30 Capsules whilst stocks last
Staying on subject, I need to report that there has recently been a global shortage of Astaxanthin and it’s not quite over. Astaxanthin is a brilliant age-defying antioxidant, although it has many other health benefits too such as helping to alleviate joint pain, promoting eye health and it is one of the few substances that can cross the blood-brain barrier. It is believed to be of paramount importance in both the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Dementia both by helping to reduce inflammation and neutralizing free radicals that are involved in the destruction of nerve cells within the brain. These are all reasons why Astaxanthin is trending so heavily, everybody wants to take it – well maybe not everybody, but enough to cause a famine.
Astaxanthin, also known as vitamin X, is a member of the carotenoid family of powerful antioxidants and it is challenging to obtain the correct Astaxanthin levels from our diet, thus the need for supplementation. It is remarkably more potent than other nutrients when it comes to free radical scavenging and this truly remarkable antioxidant is 65 times more powerful than vitamin C, 54 times more powerful than beta-carotene and 15 times more powerful than vitamin E. Even more astounding is its property to quench single oxygen molecules from damaging sunlight and in this instance it becomes 6000 times greater than vitamin C and 500 times greater in activity than vitamin E. Why do you think I take it!
To wrap, High Potency Astaxanthin is back in stock, but I think we are heading towards a problem with Superior Joints, as Astaxanthin is one of the key ingredients. For further information on Astaxanthin check out the editorial feature (below) and you will further discover why Astaxanthin is one of the most important nutrients for human health and why it is known as ‘The King of Carotenoids’. Be part of the trend and this is a serious trend, that much I promise.

Mud, Mud – Glorious Mud!
On last month’s newsletter we launched Hungary Mud, which has been certified as ‘curative’ by the Hungarian National Health Service and is prescribed by Hungarian doctors for treating degenerative skeletal and muscular disorders. If you missed what I wrote, then please click here to read all about it and let me tell you the response to Hungary Mud has been rather fabulous.
The person behind Hungary Mud is Sophie Benge and this month I go face to face with Sophie to discover the journey to launching this product in the UK. A woman of many talents, this makes fascinating reading and let me tell you, I dug deep on the interview. I have the deepest respect for people who believe passionately in the work that they do and Sophie falls into this category; not only that, but the product is of course brilliant and I know it will help so many of you with health issues, with the added bonus that it is an amazing beauty product too. Love the health/beauty crossover, do check it out.

In The Press
With very special thanks to Sonia Juttla of Stella magazine (The Sunday Telegraph), Sally Brampton of Style (The Sunday Times) and Sarah Stacey of YOU magazine (The Mail on Sunday), the products, listed below, have been flying out the door; I am so extraordinarily grateful that each of these amazing products have made an appearance on such great media platforms, thus allowing us to make a positive difference to their respective readers, which I know matters to each of them. Girls in tandem:
Skinesis Overnight Hand and Nail Treat by Sarah Chapman – As Seen in Stella
‘The Claim: An overnight treatment to target age spots, loss of volume and crêpiness.
The Verdict: Best described as a night cream for your hands, this oil-based serum is the sort of product you don’t think you need until you try it. After a couple of weeks of a new night nightly ritual (two pumps massaged into the hands and nails), we saw a definite improvement in the skin’s texture and appearance. Wrinkles looked less noticeable and the nail beds much healthier. We even used a drop on the cuticles during the day for extra nourishment. Despite including eight wonderfully fragrant oils, the product doesn’t leave your hands greasy: it sinks in right before your head hits the pillow. This really is luxury hand care at its best.’
Overnight Hand and Nail Treatment by Sarah Chapman £35 for 15 ml
LifeFlo Pure Magnesium Oil – As seen in Style
‘Mineral Rights: One of the most overlooked minerals is magnesium, despite its extraordinary benefits. It helps with insomnia, anxiety, low energy, muscle cramps and PMS. Getting sufficient amounts in supplement form is difficult, with an absorption rate of only 20-50% and trying to up it by taking more tablets can cause diarrhoea (as I know, to my cost). So I was thrilled to discover LifeFlo Pure Magnesium Oil, which you simply spray on the skin.’
Pure Magnesium Oil Spray by LifeFlo £16 for 236 ml
Re-Connect by Phylia de M – As Seen in YOU
‘Phylia de M, the US natural haircare range, is a byword for healthy, glossy locks, with the best-tressed fans including Kylie Minogue. The simple suits-all range of one shampoo, Clean, and one conditioner, Condition, has transformed my haystack too! For those people not blessed with thick manes, the leave-in treatment Connect has helped to reverse hair loss from different causes, including illness and stress. It contains fulvic and tannic acids and aloe and was devised by oncologist-turned-herbalist Dr Dick Mayayama. The blend promises to “help restore the body’s ability to grow healthy hair and stop excess shedding and thinning”. Now Phylia de M has launched Re-Connect, which is designed to be used on alternate days after using Connect for at least one month. Connect serves to detox the nerves, heal the skin and scalp and fortify existing hair, Re-Connect stimulates the hair follicle.’

Varicose Veins and Spider Veins
In the recurring theme of this newsletter, we are back to legs again and this time we take a look at Varicose and Spider veins, with a nod towards haemorrhoids at the same time.
Millions of people worldwide suffer from diseases associated with poor circulation. Varicose veins, spider veins and haemorrhoids are just some of the common circulatory disorders, which are directly associated with poor circulation. Circulatory concerns do not occur in a day, but they are often a result of poor dietary and lifestyle choices, although they may also be associated with the ageing process.
Poor circulation primarily affects the legs and feet, however the implications of poor circulation are widespread and severe and the numerous concerns associated with poor circulation also include leg ulcers, tired and heavy legs, reduced libido, persistent wounds and infections, Restless Leg Syndrome, shortness of breath, mental fog, poor memory, dizziness and a lack of energy. The list is very long.
For a more in-depth report on varicose and spider veins, do read Shabir’s article, which takes a look at what these veins are and he recommends Diosmin Plus as the best natural remedy to help alleviate poor circulation. Whilst varicose veins (and haemorrhoids) are big health concerns, the underlying effects of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) can be very uncomfortable.
VH Editorial: Varicose Veins; Diosmin Plus £25 for 60 Capsules
Five Products I Travel With
I’m going to leave my supplements out of this equation, otherwise the title of this section would read ‘Fifty Products I Travel With’, so I’m going to try to be neat and keep it to my five absolute ‘must-haves’, which is really difficult given that I am nearly always overweight when I travel and have often sat on the floor at Heathrow transferring stuff from one suitcase to another; in another life I will try to conform, but in this life I am hopeless. For the purposes of the newsletter, here are my Top Five:
Altitude Oil: This will surprise many of you because of my allergy to essential oils, but I always carry this with me and sniff away, especially on long haul flights. As long as it doesn’t touch my skin, I’m fine and this very special oil contains a range of powerful anti-bacterial, anti-viral and antiseptic ingredients to support and protect the immune system in the confines of an air cabin, or closer to earth on busy public transport!
Formulated by the wonderful Annee de Mamiel, it was created as a natural addition to her collection of seasonal facial oils and teas, specifically for use when travelling. It also happens to be pretty miraculous for clearing your head, chest and airways and can also play a role to help ease sinus congestion or seasonal allergies such as hay fever. Top Tip: Pack a small oil burner in your luggage and burn Altitude Oil when you reach your destination.
Altitude Oil by de Mamiel £22 for 10 ml
Hydra-Cool Serum by iS Clinical: The first of two of my must-takes from my LA boyfriends. Well I think it is pretty obvious that as a self-appointed Ambassador for the brand (darling Bryan and Alec – can I have shares please!) I am going to include them in this list. The fact of the matter is that nothing, and I mean nothing, hydrates my skin like Hydra Cool Serum.
Hydra-Cool is a cool (of course!) refreshing, yet extremely powerful multi-purpose formula, designed to provide intense hydration, supply optimal antioxidant protection, whilst efficiently delivering essential vitamin B5 to the skin cells. Hydra-Cool also contains Centella Asiatica, an amazing botanical ingredient, which is proven to have extraordinary healing capabilities as well as possessing high antioxidant properties. I slap it on every two hours when I doing long-haul, and it also provides relief for dry and damaged skin as well as sunburned skin. Being from the clinical range, this restorative formula is also excellent for post-procedural healing. Life-long addiction.
Hydra-Cool Serum by iS Clinical £42 for 15 ml
Extreme Protect SPF 30: From the Innovative Skincare range, here is my second must-take from the boys and even the Empress Josephine (Ms Fairley of various fames including Beauty Bible with Sarah Stacey, Green & Blacks with Craig Sams, that would be her husband, owner of the Wellington Centre in Hastings, read here and Contributing Editor to YOU magazine) declares Extreme Protect to be one the best sun protection products she has ever used and let me tell you, her fussiness is renowned!
Extreme Protect shelters healthy collagen from sun exposure and ageing. It contains powerful DNA protectants that help combat the tendency toward cell mutation caused by sun damage. It maintains and preserves healthy skin, even during environmental exposure and ageing. It provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and is clinically proven to help protect against skin damage. One of the most advanced formulations available, you can also use it as a stand-alone moisturiser and a lot of people do! I know it’s expensive, but you only need use a small amount and one tube will last ages.
Extreme Protect SPF 30 £64 for 100 grams of fabulousness!
Renouve: I can’t think of one good reason why I wouldn’t want to take this amazing anti-ageing hand sanitizer away with me. I don’t do germs and Renouve is the world’s first anti-ageing hand sanitizing lotion made with collagen stimulating peptides. Renouve was borne out of a desire for a hand lotion that eliminates germs, whilst maintaining youthful skin, without leaving our hands at the mercy of devitalizing ingredients such as alcohol, which dries the skin and leaves it susceptible to infection. So the way I think is that if Renouve was good enough to be the beauty must-have that attended The Oscars (in the goodie bags), why shouldn’t it be in my bag too! Stunning product.
Renouve £22 for 30 ml
Phylia de M: This was the most obvious one, which is why I’ve left it to last. If anybody thinks I would step one foot without being loaded with my Phylia products, think again because I would rather stay at home. Can I just say that although I don’t carry the big bottle of Fulphyl with me when I travel, I have decanted it into a spray bottle, so I give myself a couple of squirts under my tongue each day and I also spray my food with it. I’m completely obsessed with Fulphyl, which is why I always refer to it as one of the most important health products to have been released in the past decade and I believe that will be true of the next decade too.
Just to wrap, two things, firstly Kazu if you are reading this (of course you are!), please can you manufacture Fulphyl in a spray application and secondly a top tip from me and Kazu: we both lightly spritz our faces with Connect before we use any skincare products, which makes our skin dewy and fabulous and one last thing, do remember that Connect is completely brilliant for combating insect bites, including pesky mosquitos. Spray, spray, spray!
Phylia de M; Fulphyl £160 for 360 ml; VH Editorial: Fulphyl – The Elixir of Life
This entire newsletter is littered with editorial features, and there are still some to come, but in addition to these, this month the Beauty Bible girls write about Cosmetic Tweaks (if you feel the need, personally I don’t!), Catherine Turner investigates how we all tend to push too hard, whether that’s an exercise class, meditation or life in general so do take time to read Doing too Much and finally the infamous Ms Fairley pens Beauty and the Beach. Do you know something, I don’t think her home town of Hastings gets a mention in this article. Blimey, she must be slipping!
The Facts and Myths About Acai Berry
Over the past few years, more and more people are experiencing the health-giving benefits of superfoods, such as Goji, Noni and Acai Berries. A superfood can be defined as a food that offers superior nutritional value for the amount of calories it contains. Acai berries are considered one of the top superfoods, generally due to their antioxidant properties and other numerous health benefits.
Unfortunately this has resulted in numerous supplement manufacturers and distributors making outrageous claims about the wonders of this berry. Whenever a product starts to gain recognition, you can bet your bottom dollar that an entire army of manufacturers will jump onto the bandwagon and we become overwhelmed with claims, counter-claims and unscrupulous behaviour, resulting in confusion for the consumer.
I think Shabir may have turned into an investigative journalist, but as a qualified pharmacist specialising in natural supplementation, he is able to cut to the chase and tell it as it is. This is one of the main thrusts of the work that we do; we research constantly and help guide you through the mine-field that is the health industry. If you are confused about superfoods, and most people are, I hope this article helps you.

Another Top Five – The Most Wanted Health Products from the VH Wish List
Every now and again I get pretty intrigued to see the products some of you have on your Wish List, so I decided to have a peep and these are the most-wanted health products at the moment, which coincidentally, or otherwise, also happen to be some of our bestselling products; suppose that would be because they do what they say. Here they come, in no particular order:
Hyaluronic Acid: The most crucial of anti-ageing supplements in our opinion; all you need is go ‘cold-turkey’ for a couple of weeks and you will soon be rushing back to get on it. I think we can often become complacent about taking our supplements, but I have emails stacked high from people who stopped taking HA, started to feel achy all over (it helps with creaking joints) and noticed a deterioration in their skin. The shock of it all!
High Strength Hyaluronic Acid £35 for 30 VegeCaps
Magnolia Rhodiola Complex: Our bestselling product for anxiety and stress; what can I say except more and more people keep discovering this product, which in turn means that more and more people are being helped. This makes me happy.
Magnolia Rhodiola Complex £26 for 60 Capsules
Mega Probiotic ND: I’m not sure whether this is on the list because we have been out of stock or whether it is because it just happens to be brilliant. Either way, I’ve written about this above, with the special treat attached, so please refer to that to read about the treat.
Mega Probiotic ND £18.50 for 60 Capsules
Power of Krill: After Shabir wrote an article ‘Is Krill Oil the new Fish Oil’ this leapt onto our bestsellers list and by virtue has become a most-wanted. Does this mean that I have to bow to Shabir’s amazing knowledge? Answers on a postcard please! Am feeling slightly light-headed at this thought, I feel an abdication of this newsletter coming on strong, but I’ll hold out until I’ve written about the fifth product, coming next!
VH Editorial: Is Krill Oil the new Fish Oil; Power of Krill £24.95 for 60 Softgels
Fulphyl: Just knew this would be on the Wish List. Nothing to add to the comments I have previously made about Fulphyl
Fulphyl by Phylia de M £160 for 360 ml
Whenever I abdicate the newsletter, which means I can put my feet on my desk and do nothing for a moment or two, I always find it pretty useful to ‘steal’ somebody else’s work; more often than not I steal from the Beauty Bible girls, because I know I can and they won’t sue me for plagiarizing their words. This is all about In Transit No Traces Pads from This Works and I suppose it is worth saying that none of us have shares in This Works (tragic!) albeit we all write about the products a lot:
In Transit No Traces Pads
‘We’re about to eat our own words at Beauty Bible. For years we have bleated on at women not to be lazy and use cleansing pads/wipes, and then these come along. From Kathy Phillips’s This Works range (to which we are slavishly and enduringly devoted), they are really, really kind to skins too – there’s Allantoin in there, a renowned soother.
It seems miraculous to us that they also remove eye make-up as well as they do, but they just do. In Transit No Traces Pads, from a fantastic, innovative new ‘collection’ aimed at travelling beauties, are lightly infused with rose water and water mint, so the scent is as refreshing as the feel of these slim pads on the face. They have definitely brought out our lazy side, and we weren’t even sure we had one!’
In Transit No Traces Pads £17 for 60 Pads by This Works
With my feet still up on my desk, this from a VH Addict:
The Eye Doctor
‘Just wanted to let you know, I have been using the eye mask at bedtime for the last week and it has helped hugely with my dreadful hay fever eyes; the incessant wateriness has really cleared up and the big bags under my eyes have gone down loads. I no longer wake up with my eyelids glued shut. What a life saver! It’s a godsend at this time of year, especially living in the countryside. Due to the very late Spring, the pollen explosion this year has been vicious.’
The Eye Doctor £19.95
Billion Dollar Brow Update
I need to report that after using Brow Boost for several weeks, the gaps in my eyebrows are beginning to close and it has made a real difference. A friend who lost most of her eyebrows as a side effect from prescribed medication, has told me that little hairs have started to come through slowly. I think this is a labour of love, so if you are using Brow Boost please be patient, these things can take some time and we are all different, but you will need to apply it morning and night to up the ante. Top Tip: If you use Clean by Phylia, then use this to cleanse your eyebrows first.
