Are You Sleep Deprived?

Most of us know and understand that restful sleep is the cornerstone of health. Lack of sleep causes far more problems than simply feeling sluggish in the morning. Not getting sufficient sleep on a regular basis results in a lack of focus and difficulty to carry out everyday tasks. This may be fine for the odd day or two, however constantly losing focus results in a significant decrease in work efficiency and an inability to respond to everyday stressors.

Sleep studies seem to indicate that most people nowadays seem to get six hours of sleep every day whereas the recommended duration is between seven and eight hours. This difference between two equates to almost one night’s less sleep in a week! More of us than ever are sleep deprived.

We don’t need a scientific study to understand this so it is no wonder that people seek either a medicinal drug or a natural remedy to help aid restful sleep.

Problems associated with a lack of sleep

Most people do not want to admit that a lack of sleep is causing them concerns. A lot of people accept this serious issue as if it were a normal part of life. Some of the side effects of a lack of sleep include:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Impaired alertness
  • Sheer exhaustion
  • Impaired coordination
  • Haziness
  • Stress
  • Craving for food
  • Lowered immunity

I have only highlighted the biggest concerns though the list of effects is extensive. Enter InsoZia, a natural remedy with a long history of use.

A natural remedy for restful sleep

InsoZia contains two of the most researched herbs in Chinese medicine, Bai Zi Ren and Yuanzhi extract. Yuanzhi, Radix Polygalae, is commonly known as thinleaf milkwort. The herb’s name means “for longer memory” in Chinese and it is constantly used and studied throughout Chinese medical history. Yuanzhi has a positive effect on enhancing memory and anxiety.

It is now being embraced by many Western practitioners because with regular use, Yuanzhi helps gradually improve and regulate sleep pattern. Its calming and relaxing properties help to support restorative sleep.

InsoZia also contains another herb called Bai Zi Ren. In Chinese culture, evergreen conifers are often regarded as symbols of longevity and vitality. The mature pine nuts from the conifer Chinese arborvitae are carefully processed to leave a premium seed core called Bai Zi Ren. One of the secrets of Bai Zi Ren is in the ingredients of the seed core.

Bai Zi Ren has a long history of use for enhancing sedation and for its ability to tackle anxiety whilst strengthening the nervous system.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has treated the sleep disturbances for hundreds of years. It considers these two herbs to be important because of their ability to calm the heart which is where the shen (spirit/mind) is stored.

InsoZia is a herbal remedy that calms the mind, nourishes the blood and allows the heart to settle quietly to encourage natural sleep. InsoZia is non-addictive, can be used for short periods or taken for longer periods of time if this proves to be necessary.

Mr Shabir, How long does it take to work?

  • http://www.victoriahealth.com/ Victoria Health

Hi Vivien, studies indicate that this may work from as little as three days but it depends on the amount of cortisol within the body.

Hello, our 12 year old daughter suffers with anxiety and as I have an operation coming up and her exams starting soon she is really struggling to sleep. At what age can these be taken?

  • http://www.victoriahealth.com/ Victoria Health

Hi Beverly, I would recommend InsoZia from the age of 16 and above. Your daughter might benefit from the use of Avena Sativa drops by Eclectic Kids. This tincture derived from oats help calm nerves, anxiety symptoms and helps to also achieve restorative sleep as per link below.

Hi. So would InsoZia be used instead of cherry night? That was the previously recommended option for sleep. Thank you!

I felt the difference the first day I used it, it helped me relax, calmed my mind and comforted the heart a lot

Thank you for the feedback Sandy.

Hi Helen, it would be prudent not to use InsoZia and consider other sleep supplements such as Cherry Night powder or Zen Time with Lactium.

Hi Beverley, sorry to learn that the drops upset her stomach – perhaps she has a sensitivity to gluten. Perhaps a valerian tincture from A Vogels once at night might prove to be of benefit and is certainly free from gluten.

Thank you, I will try this.

  • Karen

I take magnolia (2 tablets) for stress and anxiety.
I struggle to stay asleep and wake up twice per night. I started taking InsoZia 2 nights ago. The first night I woke up 6 times the first night and 4 times last night- not really what I wanted. How quickly does InsoZia start working. Thanks

  • http://www.victoriahealth.com/ Victoria Health

Dear Karen, InsoZia is a supplement that appears to work very quickly and I would recommend that you use this supplement alongside your magnolia supplement for at least a couple of weeks.
    Best wishes,
    Shabir

  • Karen

    Ok thanks for your advice

    You are welcome Karen.

  • Jee

Hi I purchased this and it is not working for me. Like all other herbal sleeping supplements it makes me wired. I slept after around 5 hours but then woke up every 30 minutes or so! Should I try taking it through out the day instead?

  • http://www.victoriahealth.com/ Victoria Health

Hi, InSozia works to gradually reduce cortisol levels which eventually lead to increased levels of the sleep hormone melatonin. It might be that your body simply reacts to the introduction of herbs. You could try using this supplement earlier in the evening to see if this makes a difference.
    Best wishes,
    Shabir
