Garlic / Hawthorn

Garlic has been used throughout the centuries being a member of the lily family along with onions and chives. In addition to its therapeutic actions, including cardiovascular protection, immune enhancement, anti-microbial and respiratory actions, garlic contains 33 sulphur compounds, 17 amino acids and numerous minerals.
Caution: Not recommended for people who take anticoagulants, as garlic has blood-thinning actions.
Hawthorn may help to dilate the coronary blood vessels, lower blood pressure, easing flow of blood and lower cholesterol levels. It is often referred to as a heart tonic because of its enzymes that influence energy production within the heart muscle tissue.
