Internal cleanses have been part of human ritual since almost the beginning of time. We live in a polluted environment, containing many man-made chemicals that may have adverse health effects. The body also produces waste products in the course of normal metabolic activity, increasing such production during times of stress.
Detoxification is the process of eliminating or neutralising toxins through the main organs of detoxification, i.e. the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. As toxins build up, our bodies become less efficient at removing normally accumulated waste and toxins. The body needs to rid itself of these toxins and for best results it is most effective to detoxify to a maximum of six times a year, especially at the change of seasons.
