Acne in men is a troublesome concern that can be treated using supplements and the appropriate acne skin care. Acne in adult males is characterised by pimples, spots and in severe cases cystic acne. Mens acne is treatable and whether you are a young teenager or an adult man, we have vitamins, herbal remedies, acne skin care and acne spot treatments to help you achieve blemish-free skin.

The good news is that acne can be treated and prevented but before you do that it is advisable to understand which type of acne you suffer from. There are three basic types of mens acne as outlined below:

Comedonal acne – this type of acne occurs as a result of blocked pores. It looks like tiny bumps on the skin particularly around the T-zone.

Inflammatory acne – this type of acne is characterised by red bumps, whiteheads and blackheads. Inflammatory acne is more common in men than women and is the result of the body’s response to clogged follicles. This may be the result in excess oil production due to the imbalances of the male hormone testosterone levels.

Cystic acne – this is usually a scarring type of acne with deep seated inflammation. Cystic acne is the most severe type of acne and you need to address this with an inside-outside approach because it can have a social and emotional impact.
