SUMMER FITFLOPS - END OF RANGE SALE WINTER FITFLOPSFAQ

FAQs

I normally wear orthotics. Can I wear FitFlops?

The FitFlop has been designed with a regularly shaped footed, however, the multi-density midsole create a micro-wobble board action that challenges the muscles of the foot and arch, and therefore might not be suitable for everyone who needs orthotics. We recommend that you err on the side of caution and consult your podiatrist prior to wearing FitFlops if you currently rely on orthotic support.

Can I wear FitFlops if I am pregnant?

Again, we'd recommend that pregnant women check with their obstetrician or GP first, before engaging in a fitness routine based around, or a lot of walking in the FitFlop. Because a pregnant woman's tendons are more susceptible to stretching, minor variances in gait and foot flexion caused by use of the FitFlop might lead to muscle soreness or hyperextension. Note: Walking in FitFlops is an excellent way to get back in shape post-partum.

I have bunions will they be aggravated?

No. In fact, if you suffer from bunions, we'd suggest ordering a few pairs of FitFlops for yourself, as we're going to guess that you may never want to put normal shoes (that rub on your bunions) on your feet again.

Are they as suitable for hill walking as velcro trekking sandals?

Unfortunately not. FitFlops are not suitable for hill walking or mountain hiking. They are quite open and airy on the foot, and will not protect it from rough terrain or weather. FitFlops are designed for everyday use and everyday walking, to be worn by time-short individuals who may not be able to get to the gym, but want to make sure they get a 'workout while they walk'.

Are FitFlops suitable for vegans?

The first collection of FitFlop Walkstars was made entirely from textile and synthetic materials only. Due to many customer requests, FitFlop are looking into producing some FitFlops in leather. If and when a leather version is launched, we'll make sure that the construction is carefully indicated on the tag.

Does the FitFlop contain Latex?

Yes, the interlining of the FitFlop contains latex, and whilst this may not come into contact with your feet, if you suffer from latex allergies, we recommend that you avoid wearing FitFlops (unless you’re wearing them with socks).

What is the toe thong made of and what is its thickness?

I have very sensitive skin between the toes. The material between the toes is a synthetic ‘leather-like’ material. It is soft, slim and designed to be very comfortable. However, we realize that many people have ‘issues’ with the comfort afforded by toe-thongs, and therefore we are:

•   adding a ‘slide’ or ‘mule’ version of the FitFlop to our Spring/Summer 08 collection and working on perfecting what we at FitFlop
•  Headquarters refer to as ‘imperceivable toe-post technology’, for the ultimate no-feel, no rub toe thong. We hope to incorporate it into all FitFlops shortly.

Can you tell what the foot bed is made of please?

Do they contain any leather or other animal products? The FitFlop footbed in made of multi-density EVA, which is a type of odour-free (and non-absorbent) foam that is used in many type of footwear. The outsole is currently made of rubber. The footbed does not contain any leather or other animal products.
