A SAVVY WAY TO KEEP SUPPLE

I've received several fan emails for the Superior Joints supplement. As well as natural anti-inflammatory compounds (including ginger, turmeric and tart cherries), it contains natural eggshell membrane (NEM), which has been clinically proven to reduce joint pain and stiffness without side effect. In a trial published in JCR: Journal of Clinical Rheumatology, more than half of patients with knee osteoarthritis recorded an improvement within ten days. I take it (for hips and lower back) and can testify to its effectiveness.

Superior Joints is a research backed supplement that effectively relieves joint discomfort and helps to restore flexibility using nature's best kept secret - Natural Eggshell Membrane.

Natural Eggshell Memnbrane (NEM) - is a clinically proven source of chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, collagen and other glycosamino-glycans essential for healthy joints. NEM is clinically proven to reduce pain and stiffness and often within days! In a double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial published in Clinical Rheumatology, more than 50% of patients noticed an improvement within 10 days!

Superior Joints also provides a unique blend of natural herbs and antioxidants with proven anti-inflammatory benefits including;

Ginger - aside from enhancing the availablity of the ingredients through its action on the production of digestive enzymes, ginger extracts are well known to inhibit the compounds that cause inflammation. Ginger contains important antioxidants that clear the joint tissues of impurities and allows fresh blood to flow into the aching areas comforting joint sores and improving flexibility and movement of muscles and bones.

Turmeric - is known to possess powerful anti-inflammatory properties limiting the activity of the enzymes involved in inflammation (LOX and COX-2). By reducing the effects of these enzymes, turmeric may also reduce associated inflammation and alleviate pain. Turmeric is a potent antioxidant and is hence an excellent choice to help protect the joint tissues from the adverse effects of free radicals produced during the inflammatory process and hence promotes the faster recovery and repair without affecting the immune function.

Tart Cherries - contain natural anti-inflammatory compounds. In laboratory tests carried out by Michigan State University, tart cherry compounds were found to be at least 10 times more active than aspirin without side effects. Other studies indicate that tart cherries inhibit the chemicals involved in inflammation and these same compounds also have potent antioxidant properties further protecting the joint tissues against free radical damage.

Hyaluronic Acid - helps to stabilise the degradation of the cartilage matrix as well as aiding in the removal of waste matter including acidic compounds that cause pain and stiffness.

Astaxanthin - one of the most potent of free radical scavengers, numerous studies indicate that astaxanthin supports healthy joint function and quicker recovery times especially after exercise.

Superior Joints is free from dairy, gluten, wheat, corn, soya, sugar, peanuts and shellfish and is suitable for vegetarians.

The Glam Guide to Spring

I always feel a bit penned in towards the end of March. Spring hasn’t quite arrived on our doorsteps and, feeling cooped up after what seems like months of snow, sleet and rain, I like to make a list of all the places I’ll visit when the sun comes out. A Little Glamorous Black Book of places to... read more

Summer Legs

Ah, summer days. How gloriously sun-drenched. How carefree. Carefree, that is, unless you have ‘leg issues’. From late September through till mid-spring, of course, anyone who feels theirs are less-than-show-offable can retreat into opaque tights, and nobody’s any the wiser. But come shorter hemlines and days when even 10 deniers... read more

Stress and Injury

There can be no doubt that the positives of an active lifestyle far outweigh any negatives, but unfortunately with any training and exercise comes a risk of injury. We’ve written articles in the past on combating low energy and motivation levels but there is surely no obstacle more frustrating than injury. There is never a good time to pick up an injury, but more often than not... read more

Common Foot Complaints

You would be utterly surprised at the number of "everyday" skin conditions which can affect the skin and nails of the feet and with this in mind I have been working on the formulation of a new Hygiene Cream for feet to address many of these everyday conditions. Tomato Beauty

In the 16th Century, tomatoes were given the name ‘love apples’. The story goes that the Spanish conquistadors, returning home from Peru, brought with them a new and delicious plant from which could be harvested the most luscious, juicy, vibrantly coloured fruit. Some Europeans thought it poisonous. (It is, after all, a member of the... read more

Free Your Breath

Through all the years I’ve been trying to stay healthy by eating well, exercising, taking vitamins, attempting to meditate, it’s only now I really understand that breathing properly is the simplest trick most of us miss in the equation. We can be forgiven of course, as it’s something we all do automatically - approximately 12-18 times a minute of every day. We don’t have to give it a second... read more

Gill meets Margaret Dabbs

What was the inspiration that drove you to launch Margaret Dabbs, London? I was working as a Podiatrist in my own Clinic in Central London and I felt the need to treat feet the way I wanted mine to be treated. I wanted them to feel good, but also to look good, and I set about creating treatments that did just that! It really wasn’t... read more
