Gentian Angelica Bitters Tincture is a herbal digestive tonic containing a combination of bitter and aromatic herbs.  One of the key features of this remedy is its bitter action. A bitter stimulates saliva production as well as digestive enzyme production and hence improves the digestive process, enabling the complete breakdown of foods and helping to utilise foods and absorb nutrients from them.

Gentian has a prominent bitter action and Angelica contains volatile oils and flavonoids which have an antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory action on the digestive system, easing colic and reducing flatulence. The combination of ingredients is known to help reduce inflammation and support normal bowel movement.

Gentian Angelica Bitters stimulates the production of all the digestive enzymes starting from the salivary enzymes through to stomach enzymes thus breaking down foods including proteins, carbohydrates and fats more efficiently. Improper breakdown of foods, particularly proteins,  leads to gastric discomfort including colic, wind, heartburn, flatulence and bloating.

Eat Like a Yogi

Staying at an ashram in the Himalayas taught me a lot about eating. Not just the food itself, but how and why we eat the way we do, and the impact on our emotions and bodies. In the run up to my trip, I read on the ashram’s website that they follow a ‘Sattvic’ diet. I had no idea what that meant, but the list ... read more

The Great British Beach Tan

British beaches are wonderful. I know; I happen to live 250 yards from one. Shingle. Seagulls. Blistering sunshine. (Yes, really, on a good day – and you can read my guide to my hometown here.) Now, Club 55/St. Tropez, Hastings beach is not. I can’t think of anywhere on our coastline, actually, where you have to worry about... read more

Common Foot Complaints

You would be utterly surprised at the number of "everyday" skin conditions which can affect the skin and nails of the feet and with this in mind I have been working on the formulation of a new Hygiene Cream for feet to address many of these everyday conditions. The hygiene cream launch coincides with the celebration by Margaret Dabbs Clinics of ‘World Foot Health Awareness Month’ in May and is a must-have in any bathroom cabinet. It is particularly good for feet that suffer... read more
