Diosmin Complex Formula is used in the treatment of varicose veins combining Diosmin and Hesperidin with three well-known herbs for supporting healthy circulation, wound healing, elasticity and the toning of vascular tissue.

The two main ingredients, Diosmin and Hesperidin act as veinotropic agents and as vasculoprotective compounds that increase the capillary resistance of blood vessels, increase vein tonicity and decrease capillary permeability. Double-blind, placebo controlled studies of Diosmin and Hesperidin have demonstrated that the duo significantly improve leg and foot health including heaviness and restlessness in the legs, discomfort, heat sensation, swelling (oedema) and night cramps.

In addition to the powerful benefits of Diosmin and Hesperidin, several herbs have been selected that work synergistically to provide additional benefits:

Horse Chestnut has been used for many years in the treatment and prevention of varicose veins. It is also used to soothe sports injuries such as strains and sprains and for promoting wound healing.

Butcher’s Broom (Ruscus aculeatus) has been used historically to treat varicose veins as it is believed to improve vein tone and encourage blood flow. It may also help improve symptoms of poor circulation such as blood pooling in the legs, swelling and constricted blood vessels.

Dandelion If water retention causes ankle or leg swelling, a diuretic such as dandelion (Taraxacum officianalis) can be of great assistance. The official name, officinale, means that it is used medicinally. It supports and strengthens the entire body, especially the liver and gall bladder, but is used mostly to help reduce swelling associated with water retention.

Gotu Kola helps eliminate excess fluid, helps shrink tissues and stimulates the central nervous system. Gotu Kola promotes wound healing and whilst it is used for the treatment of varicose veins, it is also used for heart and liver function, cardiovascular and circulatory disorders, fatigue, connective tissue disorders, poor appetite and sleep disorders.

Dosage
One capsule twice daily.

Diosmin (containing 450mg Diosmin and 50mg Hesperidin) - 500mg, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract - 250mg, Dandelion (leaf) - 150mg, Butcher's Broom Extract (root and rhizome, standardised to contain 10% saponins) - 60mg, Gotu Kola Extract - 60mg. Other Ingredients: Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide, Rice Powder, Gelatine (capsule). Does not contain sugar, corn, soy, gluten, wheat, milk, egg, artificial colouring, artificial flavouring or preservatives.
