Dandelion has a long history of use as a tonic to the liver. It has been shown to stimulate the production and release of bile by the liver and gall bladder helping to break down fats and aid digestion. As a bitter, dandelion stimulates the digestive process helping to break down all foods more efficiently and thus prevent their stagnation which often leads to constipation.
Dandelion has been confirmed as having diuretic activity. Conventional diuretics may eliminate potassium however dandelion's rich content of this mineral addresses this concern. Potassium maintains healthy neuromuscular function, cardiovascular function and is a key mineral in stress protection.
Caution: Should not be combined with prescription diuretics and not recommended for people with gallstones.
