The prostate produces a thick, white fluid called semen that mixes with the sperm when it is ejaculated in male orgasm. The prostate often begins to enlarge when men reach their mid-40’s when symptoms will include feeling that you have not completely emptied your bladder after urinating, waking up frequently at night to urinate, urinating more often and feeling an urge to push or strain to start the urine stream.
